Does Leo experience any suffering?

28 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura do you still experience suffering?

And if so at which point did it stop for you? What is your perception of suffering? Is it also because of infinite love?

Are you under the impression that Leo is an enlightened master?

I just watched his video about infinite love in which he is talking about his recent awakening and that he is beyond most of the enlightened teachers he also said that emotions like fear have become absurd to him they don't make any sense anymore. This made me curious how his day to day experience and emotions are.

I thought that way when I used to live alone most of my time.

Lol

Whatever he is thinking now, time will reveal that he (and anybody) is not immune to suffering, fear, anxiety. Spiritual techniques like mindfulness can give you great coping skills so you suffer less, but that doesn't mean you'll become some superhuman.

I wouldn't know.

What I do know, though, is that there's wisdom to find even in the most deluded of people.

Of course I suffer.

Don't get stupid ideas about me.

People love to build up fantasies of their gurus being invincible and superhuman. Stop doing that. Treat gurus as ordinary people. Enlightened masters are a lot more ordinary than you imagine them to be.

That's exactly the same problem about thinking that culture is above us

@Leo Gura You are just downplaying spiritual masters.

There are only 2 types of suffering mental and physical.

And you don't even need an awakening to get rid of the mental suffering since you create it yourself. So how do you suffer?

Physical suffering is another story.

That's a duality you're creating.

@Enlightenment Suffering,fear,anxiety to my current understanding they don't even appear or not supposed to appear at all in the first case for a deeply enlightened - arrahat or what ever title with which they are addressed.

@Jkris

On Matthew 26:39, on the night before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed,

O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will but as you will.

Jesus wept when Lazarus died....

@abrakamowse ???

Jesus wept when Lazarus died ....

I strongly doubt if that is even remotely possible.

Better to get it clarified from living enlightened beings.

@Jkris  I think it has more to do with empathy. The enlightened master knows that people who is not still awake suffer and feel suffering as real.

I always remember a text from Rumi

"God made the Illusion look Real and the Real an Illusion !”

@Jkris its part of being in this finite form and dwelling in duality.  It is reduced after awakening in many aspects and the more conscious one becomes pre and post awakening the less they will suffer because they are no longer slave to the ego.  So one can attain a much more full state or awareness which is liberating.

Ultimate liberation IMO is the full dissolution of the ego and the return to non-duality...nirvana.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.
