@Aakash Sadashiva Brahmam a mystique saint who was very eloquant in speaking about spirituality.

One day his Guru said Sadashivam cant you keep quiet in Silence.

Sadashiva Brahmam went to silence and he never spoke again in his life.

Could you summarize it for me if I'm too lazy to look it up?

@Aakash oh interesting blog post.  I like this part:

Quote

If there are an average of 3 planets per star, that means there are 1,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in our universe.

But all of that is just but an infinitesimally small speck of dust within Infinite Consciousness. All those planets are as far away from infinity as the number 3.

It takes Infinite Consciousness less than a nanosecond to dream all that up.

sometimes I like to think about how all THIS - could come and pass as quickly as one of our nightly dreams (in relative time of course). And we have on average 4-6 dreams per night. And every time a dream is manifested, an entire universe is manifested, although for nightly dreams I'm not sure how much of that universe is manifested at once, probably only the parts needed for the story.  But it really puts things into perspective that all of THIS that we hold so dear is nothing but a blip in infinity. So awesome.

With all those planets..

It's weird that we haven't seen any trace of intelligent extraterrestrial life. Intelligent life with technology should radiate all kind of stuff into space, radio signals etc., even unintentionally. Some should also send out signals intentionally.

It's called the "Fermi paradox".

I have a feeling that if aliens become nesseccary for the story they will manifest and then it will be as if they were there all along... Something like that

Why are you so sure we haven't?

After all, hundreds of thousands of people report they have.

Be careful not to confuse your personal lack of experience as evidence of absence. By that logic no one's ever seen a platypus.

Those people can be mistaken and/or nuts too.  Nietzsche said you must account for stupidity.

And so can you and Nietzche. So who's more nuts?

How do you account for Nietzche's stupidity? ;)

Be careful, when assuming the stupidity of others, that you don't come out the stupid one in the end ;)

Take what people say with a grain of salt.  Remember, we're the bullshitting animal.  People can say anything.  And people can mis-perceive and/or mis-conceive.  Don't be naively trusting I think is what Nietzsche is saying.  Make stupidity the norm rather than the exception.  People also have confirmation bias, so they find what they're looking for.  We must account for foolishness.  Reality has foolishness.  Lots of foolishness.  Our job is to avoid the foolishness, or if we can't avoid it, at least account for it as Nietzsche taught.  Stupidity must be factored into the human experience -- it's a necessary element in the system of life.  Stupidity/foolishness is a feature in the system of life not a bug.

It's called the "Fermi paradox".

That's a projection of humankind.

Just because that's what we would do it doesn't mean that other life forms would do the same.

How does Hollywood usually project Aliens? They show up in massive hoards, then they trick us into thinking they might be peaceful just to prepare for an attack, and then they attack us to harvest all of Planet Earth's resources.

Based on Human History that's exactly what Humans will do once we develop the capacity to colonize Space.

It's a massive projection.

@Mikael89 And before that platypus was verfied beyond all doubt and spoon fed to you by some authority figure you would have disbelieved it and been wrong.

What you fail to appreciate is that cutting edge discoveries don't work that way. There is a long and grueling process to verify a thing beyond all doubt, doubly so when that discovery would upend your whole paradigm of reality.

The US Airforce releases credible video footage of UFOs out running the world's best jet fighters and radar locks and you ignore it. So who's being stupid here?

@Leo Gura @Mikael89

Another thing to consider is that if you would see an Alien you might actually not recognize it for an Alien.

It's easy to go watch TV and being presented an Alien to you in a TV show and be like, ahah that's an Alien.

But if you would encounter one on the streets or in the woods or at the beach or something you might just recognize it off as an animal or a plant or a bug or something.
