best supplements for focus?

Caffeine, Creatine, L-Theanine - all work for me

But many of these additional supplements don't move the needle as much as sleep, morning light, hydration, cardio, resistance training and high quality nutrition. Maintaining a healthy body composition.

The problem is, no one is really attending to the basics. The basics do most of the work. Supplements just give a slight edge. Even caffeine has pretty big rebound dips in focus

Bingo. Sleep especially is the biggest one for me. After I started tracking my sleep with a wearable tracker I realised just how much of my mental state on a given day was determined by whether I got 7+ hours sleep or more the previous night.

Cleaning an (average) diet often yields more than adding things on top.

In case you haven't yet: what parts of your diet or supplement strategy could be cleaned up with the same purpose, before adding new things?

PS: Not saying you necessarily have an average diet yourself, but that's the first question without prior knowledge.

This combo is the best. Magnesium, L-Theanine, Ashwagandha and Maca.

I love the state I get into when I take Qualia Mind, Coffee with some Creatine + 1mg of Nicotine via spray. If you want to reproduce it less expensively it would be L-Theanine, Creatine, Coffee + Nicotine. The L-Theanine smoothes out the edginess of the Coffee + Nicotine and gives you a more stable, meditative focus, but with peak clarity to absorb information and make insights.

I've experimented with caffeine and L-Theanine together.  That is a good mix.  Just make sure you don't get super hooked on using caffeine.  L-Theanine reduces the jitters of the caffeine.
