The truth about money.

10 posts in this topic

Money is a hallucinogen, a drug, and when people get under its spell, they stop seeing reality as it is. This drug becomes their reality. The hallucination of money is so powerful for childish minds. And like with any drug, there needs to be a catastophe, an overdose, to awaken for the hallucination to spiritual reality.

Money is psychological. It isn't just a currency, it's a psychological hallucination.
That's why we associate happiness, success, status, importance, value...
With it. With this worldview, people's net worth dictates their value. Not their morality, or their character, just their financial assets.
When you're under the spell of money, the lens of which you look through the world is one of extracting money, not Truth.
You stop looking for the Truth, and you start looking for money. Which will end up in evil. Which is what we see with the inequalities in the world today.

@Majed yes and no, it isn't that black and white. The biggest people who feel pain around money are actually rich and poor people. The rich feel the pain of wanting more and more and the poor feel the pain of not having enough. Middle class they just feel fine, but a bit stagnant. So poor people are as much if not more under the spell of money then rich people are, as they only think about money all the time with everything they buy, everything they do, everything becomes about money, like hunger. Where as rich people can relax more and relax more around money, but might have a hunger for bigger dreams and living up to their full potential.

@Majed Yes but at the same time, money is the only thing that gets you out of wage-slavery and gives you freedom to pursue whatever you want. Of course it won't solve anything existential, but it will free your time and energy to actually spend them on things you really care about.

On a collective level, yes, I'd agree.

Also known as survival. Money helps with survival, and people mostly care about survival so money becomes very important in that regard.

Money is an abstraction of survival.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Money is very hypnotic.

The anchors of the hypnosis are the stuff that money gives you access to.

That's why financial freedom is important. Namely transcending money. The thought of money doesn't enter my head. I give it away on the daily without any second thought. Any need that crosses my path gets fixed to the degree I judge I am able. My world gets more perfect. Although if you mention money, you unwittingly label yourself as contaminated in my eyes. So let's never talk money. Except in the abstract on perhaps weird esoteric online forums.
