Flock Cameras: For or Against?

10 posts in this topic

I go back and forth on this. I don’t feel like I have a strong opinion either way. Flock has solved a lot of crimes that would have been harder to solve without it. But Flock has also been misused and there is some concern over how much power should we give the government over the individual.

There is no expectation of privacy in public. People can film you without your permission and there are already cameras at stoplights and speed cameras.

Flock isn’t just a camera, it is linked to AI and I’m not sure the extent of how much one’s personal information will be involved. We have the 2nd amendment right to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. Democracy is fragile. Flock has the potential to give the government more power to exploit its citizens. Just a thought.

But if we are to ban Flock, then the logic follows that stoplight and speed cameras should be outlawed. Filming in public is a first amendment right, but maybe we need to question this?Ā

I think most people are overreacting to Flock even though their concerns are valid. I’m still not sure where I stand, but I may be leaning towards pro Flock.

What do you think about Flock?

George Orwell first talked an all -seeingĀ surveillanceĀ state called "Big Brother" in 1949.

Will it someday come to that? I don't know.Ā  But I amĀ glad they are putting cameras on school buses to catch people that ignore the flashing stop lights when children are crossing the road.

Some of those cameras have use like in certain buildings. But speed cameras are ridiculous. We gotta draw the line somewhere.

I don’t think we should give the government that much control. Flock is already thinking of expanding toĀ drones.Ā

We should be able to vote and consent to this. What is stopping the government from putting cameras in our houses? OurĀ phones are already being tapped into.

To truly love something is to grant that thing freedom. It is to hold it in an open palm of your hand without clenching over it.Ā

It's especially a problem when the Epstain class psycho satanists are in control of the US government.Ā

Not just the citizens, but their enemies, and the whole of society.Ā

My biggest concern is it would lead to an enormous concentration of wealth and power.Ā

Check this shit out:

It's hard to fathom all the ways they could use it to acquire more resources and power.

Imagine having 24/7 feeds monitoring hundreds of thousands of businesses.Ā

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

Imagine ifĀ Palantir got it's filthy hands on this shit in some sort of horrific merge.

Flock:Ā Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā reality = dataĀ

Palantir:Ā  Ā data = intelligenceĀ

Some fucking Orwellian shit. Human misuse as well.Ā

It is far easier to foolĀ someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

I like to keep a Flock in my toilet. Give them a show.
