Is Leo Gura awake or not?

think his ability to deliver the message in a modern context without any riddles or obfuscations which flies over most seekers even though several Eastern religions explicitly say the same thing, namely Hinduism.

I don't know why other people haven't just come out and said it so matter of factly or in plain English.

There is always a sort of spiritual veneer, that mystifies the description in some sense.

I think Leo is the only guy that just flat out said it. Maybe it's because he has the benefit of speaking to a modern audience that is alive at the same time as him.

A thing is true because it’s true , not because Leo says it . A thing is false because it’s false , not because Leo denies it .
if solipsism is true then there is no point of talking to others . Because others are inert like doors . Would you talk to the wall ? No because it can’t hear you .
so far what’s Leo’s proof of solipsism ? “Take  5 meo 100 times , not 78” . And lose your mind or in worst cases die .  I mean ……

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

I think it's a Buddhist mistake to define awakening as detachment from the dream. Leo warned about this years ago.

There's practical value in talking to others even if you believe they aren't conscious like you. In video games, you talk to various NPCs to get what you want/need to win the game.

Not to say I believe in solipsism, but that the logic holds as long as the belief is held. You can believe in solipsism and talk to others. But what you can't do is believe in solipsism and believe that others exist. Hence, Leo says you are him, everything is imaginary, there is no self, there are no others, only Self/God exists, etc...

Now, the leap from that to Love is a difficult one for me to comprehend.

I'm starting to think not, but convince me otherwise lol.

No, Leo cannot be the only one Awake. That would make this a cult. Which it is not.

God is Selfless. Love is ALL.

Ask yourself this. If it weren't for Leo, how awake would you be? Be brutally honest.

It's true that Leo was and is a major figure on my path. But that doesn't mean he has gone all the way.

Does not seem like he has baseline / "perpetual" mystical/non-dual awareness like those examples you mentioned, he will probably tell you yourself

I seem to intuit that too. Nice to know your perspective on this.

It's the age old question: how do we know anything?

The best you can do is ask and then observe the answer. But if you don't know what you're looking for then it's a dead duck even before you've got started.

In general you can't trust what anybody tells you, because they could be grifting, deluded, misinformed, ignorant and so on.

It's even worse in Leo's case because none of us has met in him person, all we have to go on are is his videos and what he writes on here and elsewhere. He seems intelligent, sincere, coherent, and the sum of his behaviour and output over time seems to support the view that something's going on him - so I would give him the benefit of the doubt.

The problem with having any particular trait or experience (such as being awake) that nobody else has, is that it's blindingly obvious to yourself that you have it and others don't, but the converse doesn't hold, and no amount of grandstanding can convince everyone or even some people - because they don't have it and they can't understand it.

Well said. I give Leo the benefit of the doubt and he gave me insane ammount of value overall. But, I do question if he is on par with the figures I mentioned on the topic.

Cessation

That's interesting that you mentioned. What do you think the implications of that mean? How could that influence Leo's teachings and behaviour if he did have that awakening?

That's what he said 6 years ago at least, in the many facets of Awakening video.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Idk because I hadn't had that Awakening myself.

Usually Leo's work is rising consciousness towards Infinity but Cessation (for what I understand, I didn't have the awakening again, I could be terribly wrong) is in a way the collapse of consciousness towards its ultimate 0 and then it reboots. It's like an existential k-hole.

Also consider that most teachers are lucky to fully realize one facet or even a few, Leo has done all but one, this is unheard of in the domain of peak Consciousness, so that puts everything in its right perspective.

It would be great to see Leo doing 10 years of hardcore vipassana to have that facet to full fruition but idk if it's worth it for him or if it would be worth it the effort for a such a niche Awakening in consciousness. Even in the Buddhist circles it's not the end but other states of consciousness are, which Leo has already reached as peaks through other methodologies, but Cessation is documented as a radical type of Awakening that can happen in the practice and its value is mostly due to the fact that it changes substantially your baseline state of consciousness, that reboot sets you into a higher default baseline.

To be truly Awake is to realize that there is no one else here.

Everyone is here, don't convince you of this or you might regret it . . Or not. Or whatever.

In that case, him dissing Buddhism means he "doesn't know what he is talking about" lol.

(Entering) cessation feels like being slowly injected with anesthesia. And the sounds in the room, they don't as much weaken or vanish as they seem to slow down and "stop". It's as if each "bit" (or beat) in the vibration (sound is vibration which means rhythm) becomes audible, slowing down until it sounds like somebody is clapping their hands really fast, or like putting a piece of cardboard on a spinning bike wheel, until it lands on the silence between each bit or beat and you get sucked into that void.

Like this video in reverse (just with the sounds in the room and not a pure note):

It's as if each vibration in your sensory field (also including vision, bodily sensation) becomes perceptible and you start to become aware of the void in-between each vibration and eventually you get sucked into that void.

It used to freak me out that others are imaginary. Now it’s less of an issue. It’s an acquired taste. The duality of self and other collapses. No one and every one, Nothing and Infinity identical.

This is all beliefs and concepts, until Awakening. Awakening to God. Not to Leo Gura. Not to Yimpa. GOD!

Buddhism is extremely limited independently of Cessation, just by the very virtue that they ignore a wide range of peak states, in particular Infinity, Love and God. For baseline consciousness it's a decent path at least.

Thanks for that description, very illustrative. Are you talking from first hand experience?

Cessation (nirodha samapatti) is also described in other traditions where Love and God (and infinity) become common descriptions (nirvikalpa samadhi). The crux of the distinction you're getting at is psychedelic states.
