Why I Think Magic Is Real

24 posts in this topic

This is a serious thread.

I recently got interested in manifestation, which led to finding all kinds of interesting topics such as conscious creation, law of attraction, law of assumption, and even magic. Now, magic (often spelled magick) is defined by Aleister Crowley as "The science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with will." This is a good definition; magic basically is changing reality purely through your mind.

Why do I think this is real? Metaphysics.

Reality is consciousness, and there is really no material world. Further, you are this consciousness. So you can change consciousness (yourself) however you want.

It's really that simple. I honestly don't understand how so many spiritual people aren't aware of this. I even saw Leo recently saying something like "the way manifestation really works is that it motivates you to take action on what you're manifesting." No!!!! That is literally applying the materialist paradigm's idea that you are separate from the external world and so you can't change it unless you grab a jackhammer or some lab tools. Lol.

Here are some more reasons to believe magic is real:

  • You are GOD! Duh. You think God can't change material reality?
  • Every limit is imagined by consciousness and therefore can be unimagined (See Leo's "8 Unique and Original Proofs of God"). This means there really are no limits. You are imagining all limitation.
  • Mechanisms are an illusion. There are no mechanisms in reality; they are a feeble attempt by science to explain reality. You will never explain the mechanism of anything fully (because it is infinity), you will just get a better pretense of knowing it. Since there are no mechanisms, you can literally manifest something physically impossible.
  • Every spiritual tradition talks about magic.
  • People have believed in magic for the entirety of history.

Please tell me your take on this. I'm interested in what your objections are. And only answer if you understand that Reality is Consciousness, otherwise none of this will make sense.

@Leo Gura I'd be very interested to hear your opinion on this. I think I might've made a big discovery in this field.

But God can also imagines material reality. That includes its limits.

In which case, you will have to play by the rules of material reality.

But you are God. So you can unimagine the limits. The logic seems perfectly clear.

By the way, manifestation/magic is usually not about imagining a crazy new dimension like on a psychedelic trip. It's making select changes to consensus reality. That makes it even easier to unimagine.

Notice how magic and imagination sound similar.  Someone needs to do a good video on this topic.

Key-to-lock, as its highly personalized, highly guarded within, not something you can easily dilute and try to make a theory out of... Like we are all connected, in as much as you can become the thing that validates that truth.

You’re late to the party . Every other corner in India lives a Yogi who has Siddhis.

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

It is kind of taboo because it is seen as a stage purple shadow or an aspect of premodernity.

And i should just point out, im speaking to Being/reality, As those things mentioned (in ur post) are instance of what you might temp., consider mind alchemy for the sake of knowing thyself, or as above so below typeve things.

The centervoid is that Being everyone wanted to know, but then surface level theories veil the fact that you want to know Being from some odd theoretical place or judgement.

Like, the radical awakening lives within itself, and everything else is subordinate to the awakening / psychedelic journey part.

Well yes, but again you can unimagine it. Unless you're saying it's simply too hard to unimagine limits.

Have you run into people with Siddhis? And do you think it takes high levels of realization to do magic, or can anyone?

Theoretically, but that doesn't mean you will.

Ask yourself: what is the intelligent function of limits?

Why do you think God imagines limits in the first place?

You're certainly welcome to try to imagine whatever you want. In fact, it's probably better if you test it for yourself. But I think you will find your abilities to be quite limited.

The flaw in this logic is the conflation of what "you" means.

You are God but your ego is not Omnipotent. Your logic tries to make the ego Omnipotent, which is a mistake.

You can just observe that your thoughts do not directly manifest themselves.

You can sit for 12 hours straight visualizing a lightning bolt will kill you, and no bolt will hit you. This proves the ego's thoughts do not directly materialize. But they can indirectly, like if you think about chasing tornados, lightning is more likely to hit you.

Magic is real for God, not for the ego. Magic is Infinity, but ego is finite. To have magic you have to surrender the ego's attachment to outcome, even attachment to staying alive. Then magic will happen. As long as ego is trying to manipulate Reality, that's not magic, that's survival, that's business as usual.

The ego is sneaky, it wants to use God to manipulate Reality for survival. But that isn't Good, that's evil. That's what every dicatator does. Kings and tyrants believe their will is God's Will, which delusional.

That's realistic, not materialistic. There's a difference.

All of this is theoretically fine. But in practice, it's not.

When you claim something, you must show evidence. Otherwise, it's just a belief.

  • Every spiritual tradition talks about magic.
  • People have believed in magic for the entirety of history.

Earlier human societies were more primal and superstitious. They didn't have science. So they believed in all sorts of supernatural fictions to explain away ambiguity. It was the best they had.

Also scientists used to be cast out or called wizards. They were literally doing magic through chemical reactions and sleight of hand. They were not allowed to exist in the system. But it's just science all along.

Yogis seem to have siddhis because India is a heavily Stage Purple culture. Hindus believe in magic.

"Magick" is a red herring from the real magic underneath everything.

It looks shiny, imitates the wonderful feeling of mystery, it feels like the real thing, but it distracts from it. In a way, it's the devil. Like the opposite of God if that's possible 😂

This reminds me of all that ridiculous "manifestation" stuff. People are so biased there and think that just sitting around "vibrating with money" is going to make it appear. It's just ego desires with a spritual cloak.

Yes, everything is consciousness, but it's not stupid. God is not stupid enough to just let you sit there and imagine everything you want, then again, i do think there is some small room for the mystical and magic, like syncronicites and things, but they are far more rare than people think. But i do think there are instances where "god gets involved" but it's not how people think and it's best not to hinge upon or try to manipulate that domain. Like someone here said, give it a go, do your magick and manifestations for a month or 6 and see how far it actually gets you.

What do you mean? Do you think it's a matter of belief?

Can't a western rational scientist develop siddhis (at least to some degree) without believing in them, just doing the practices?

bingo, it's like people want something extra on the cake which is already a pure miracle, pure magic, and much wiser than our stupid manifestation goals. Not to say people shouldn't go after mastery and creating what they want in life, but don't be deluded about it
