Prequels have good parts, like the creatures and worldbuilding. Gotta be picky.

I saw The Phantom Menace in the theater when it came out and didn't like it.  Ditto for Attack of the Clones.

I love the Star Wars universe but I lost interest in the movies and spin-offs, except for The Mandalorian, which is genuinely pretty great and a lot of fun.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a great spin-off.  George Lucas loves it.

Did you watch Revenge of the Sith? That's the best one that ties up the whole story. It's so sad I was genuinely shook and had to take a walk afterwards to clear my mind. Such a tragic love story.

The gladiator scene from Attack of the clones is so good

I think the prequels set up the intensity of the emotions for the original movies. Without them you don't really understand who Darth Vader is as a person and how the Jedi's foolishness failed him.

He literally went to Master Yoda in Revenge of the Sith and told him he was scared and getting visions of a loved one dying and Yoda told him that he was good and he should be happy that they are dying, they will be one with the force now!

Doesn't seem that he was very happy when thousands of Jedi died and were made one with the force after Order 66 what a hypocritical arrogant little prick that caused the whole conflict of the show. 

The Jedi remind me of the concept of spiritual bypassing, they try to act holier than thou and above the world but it hurts a lot of people and ultimately causes their downfall. 

It relates to what we were talking about yesterday on the sadism topic. Vader was in such pain that he wanted the whole universe to feel his pain. In the canon his suit was made to continuously torture him so his rage never faded. It's truly a deep romantic tragedy, I've thought about burning the whole world down before if the woman I loved died. 

I'll have to rewatch the originals again as well but from what I remember they were a bit bland and don't they repeat the plot of blowing up the death star twice?

Check out Ahsoka, it's really good and season 2 is dropping early 2027!

I watched episode 1 so far it was quite good. I enjoyed seeing the character of Obi-Wan completely losing his confidence as a jedi and abandoning the other Jedi who then gets hanged. It'll be cool to see how he comes back to full strength and duels Vader as I already saw clips of that on Youtube. 

Gonna checkout the Acolyte next before finishing Kenobi, it's a prequel and explores the dark side more which I find fascinating.

To be fair I will watch them all and then revise my opinion.  I really like the first one.  It is campy, but that is part of what I like about it.

I remember watching this animated show as a kid as I was surprised how good the later seasons became since I didn’t like the prequels and the beginning seasons were extremely mid. It’s impressive how good some of their stories were given all the constraints (it basically had to be stand alone and fit in between prequel episodes 1 and 3).

My dream program would be all the people behind the good parts of this made a old republic film series, the great plot from those games combined with their writing could have made the best Star Wars films ever made.
