Do you want to die?

13 posts in this topic

I'm not asking if you would be okay with it, but if you actually want it

Not to attain anything but simply surrender your life

It would make sense for God to reach such a point, you surrender everything and gain it all back and more, that maximizes your gains

You reach for death on 5meo (not by harming the body) and next thing you know, you're actually immortal, and literally God

No space, no time, nothing but you/this/here/now

@Loveeee if you are ok with it it will lift a lot of the weight of this world off of you. Most of our suffering comes from the fear of it.  if you have died via enlightenment its even better.

Nobody has thoughts on death. What a shitty world.

That's a heavy question. Wanting to die and surrendering to death are different things. The 5meo experience is about ego dissolution, not physical death. You're describing a spiritual surrender, not a desire to end life. I think there's a distinction worth making.

Yes excellent this is precisely it.  Better draw fhe line between wanting to die and being ok with it..

That is a personal decision

Be careful of spiritual bypassing. If God created physical reality don't you think that's where you have the most gains? You specifically are birthed in an area that is about to undergo post scarcity and become infinite in it's wealth. Why would death give you more abundance? I picture unformlessness as what we see in dreams, immaterial scenes without substance that have trouble with continuity. God is offering you the infinite physical universe, I would be careful with assuming that's a lesser prize.

You can't convince life over death.

By default, every human alive wants to live. the fact that you are breathing shuold be illustrative enough.

what "you" are you referring to when you say this you? the human you?

because this question makes no sense once you are enlightened, once you realize, you know that the "Aliveness" part of existence was never the human, but the actual preceding Consciousness.

You Die when you recognize what Existence is. and existence TRASCENDS the human vessel.

So, coming back to the question:

if you are pointing to the human -> then why would a survival machine want to die?

if you are pointing to God -> the question makes no sense because God is what makes the possibility of the distinction "alive/death" to exist in the first place

According to Gemini, this is what you mean : From the perspective of absolute consciousness, life and death are completely equal, so you can't logically prove that living is better than dying.

Is this what you mean? If so I still think you're wrong but I wanna make sure we're talking about the same thing here.

No one that’s still „here” wants it. Me neither. So no.

If you truly want something, you get there in no time.

I've heard a cool theory about Jesus lately on his role in saving humanity of its sins like the Catholics claim it. It's by social scientist René Girard. One of his main contributions to sociology is mimetic desire where humans mostly decide on their life goals and objective by looking at what others have and mimicking it. Until Jesus the main tales and heroes of humanity were violent conquerors. He was the only one who stood out as being a blameless victim as opposed to being a powerful ruler. This story outside of anything divine or spiritual has permeated throughout 2000 years of history and inspired civil rights movements across many nations culminating in our future world peace and final unification as a species because he was given a mystical experience and chose to die as a martyr instead of escaping prosecution.

All this today even Jesus probably doesn't like death he just got promised reincarnation into our future world of post scarcity and abundance and VR waifus.

I don’t think anyone really wants it when they are healthy and happy and working on building an authentic and beautiful life. But of course there comes a time and no amount of feeling changes this. Old people who approach it say they feel a send that they are going home. That they have done enough here, not perfectly but they are proud nonetheless. And they are ready for a rest which sleep no longer does for them. People who don’t want to die when old are usually people who lived very inauthentically, left a lot of things unsaid, stubbornly acted in ways that they wish they hadn’t and lived in ways they regret. So yeah at my age no I don’t want it but I’m sure that will change if I make it to old age.
