But like I said, most Jews equate Zionism to the belief in a Jewish state. Not colonialism, not ethnic cleansing, not jewish superiority, not greater Israel, not any of this other stuff.

So when the attack vector is "Zionism" it pushes away many Jews who would otherwise fight for human decency.

I feel like there needs to be another word for the truly horrific aspects of Israeli policy outside of the jewish state identity. Because having a religious or ethnic identity is common around the world.

So you end up with many Jews rightfully calling this out as anti-semitism because it is the Jewish state being singled out.

You just succeded to put into clear words what I feel all the time and struggle to find the way to communicate.

Needs to be framed and put on the wall.

My first guess would be racism or islamophobia (since 95% of pro Israelis these days are massively islamophobic) but from other clips Destiny does not come off that way when it comes to other topics

when a belief "islam" is the origin that creates the phobia the word islamophobia becomes meaningless.

it's like you come up with the word gunphobia lol. why do you fear the bullet then ? let it in your head.

- the founder of Zionism Theodore Herzl drafted a letter to South African colonists discussing how his movement was similar and he envisioned it as “something colonial”

What does that have to do with what I wrote? I never disputed the history of Zionism. I am specifically talking about how most Jews use the terminology and what their beliefs are. They do not believe in colonialism. They believe in a Jewish state.

- Its not antisemitic to be against a Jewish state, just like it’s not anti-white to be against a white nationalist state. You’ve repeatedly posted the nonsense that there are more Muslim counties as though it’s similar, it isn’t. The Muslim countries don’t occupy millions of the indigenous people who aren’t given human rights based on their ethnicity while actively settling the land with foreign Muslims who have rights for the stated reason of ethno nationalist expansion. Also those countries are considered backwards dictatorships in the west and no one says you are denying Muslims connection to the land or being anti-Muslim if you criticize their human rights abuses by themselves, israel demands everyone acknowledge how western and democratic they are and accuses everyone criticizing their abuses of antisemitism.

You missed the point again. It is antisemitic to single out the Jewish state. It's no surprise you didn't use the counter example of it not being Islamophobic to be against a Muslim state. It sounds absurd to read the words because they've never been expressed even though its the same thing.

- The land being holy in Judaism is irrelevant to Zionisms relation to Judaism, it is holy regardless of the nature of the state, nothing is inherent in Judaism that the land needs to be a Jewish supremacist state, it was holy for thousands of years with Jews on it prior to Zionism. The pioneering zionists were atheists.

Its not irrelevant. This is both a religious and territorial issue. You're actively trying to reduce it to only a territorial one even though there's a huge religious component to it. I don't know why anti Israel voices need to pretend that the nation of Israel belonging to Jews in that territory is not a huge aspect of mainstream Judaic thought. You also smuggled in the term supremacist. Would you use the same terminology for those Muslim nations you defend? Despite not currently having any apartheid like situation they effectively function as what you would consider Islamic supremacy using the same definitions. Once again, it sounds stupid when the coin is flipped. Also you continually ignore my entire point which is to speak of how present day Jews use and think about Zionism. The pioneering zionists do not represent us much the same way the pioneering imperialists who conquered and founded any nations don't represent their current ideals.

- The primary issue is not denying Jewish “connection to the land”, it’s Palestinians being denied human rights on their own land by the Israeli occupation and its enablers. Israel was actually supported by the left wing in the west for decades and they just used that as pretext to expand and spread propaganda to delegitimize Palestinians. Zionists to this day are constantly saying Palestinians don’t exist.

I agree with you here. That's why my plea is to stay focused on the primary issue, which is Palestinian subjugation. What ends up happening is that loaded terms like Zionism are demonized and the core issue gets buried under the rubble. My entire point was that if the focus was on Palestinian suffering you wouldn't have millions of Jews feeling like they are being singled out and attacked for simply believing in a Jewish state.

Israel should’ve been created in Canada or something. Considering that it was essentially an Anglo-American project to begin with it only makes sense that they gave up some of their own land rather than force the displacement of millions of random Sunni Arabs for no reason other than 2000 years ago some ancient Jewish people lived there.

That wouldn’t work because Canadians, Europeans, and Americans were xenophobic and could actually defend themselves. Despite the decades of propaganda Israel pushed that they are victims surrounded by radical murderers, when israel was created the Palestinians were mostly unarmed farmers and the surrounding arab nations had undeveloped militaries that were barely used for a long time and they largely didn’t have the antisemitic views popular in Europe at the time.

That’s why they so much Jewish immigration happened in the first place with minimal pushback until they realized what they were planning, meanwhile israels “great friends” in the western countries were blocking Jewish immigration leaving European jews at the mercy of Nazis.

If someone said Muslim countries shouldn’t give citizenship based on religion no one would call them Islamaphobic, at least not remotely as much as the antisemitism accusations when they say it about israel.

Ive literally never heard someone get called islamophobic for saying Muslim countries should change their government. If the person argues the problems are a result of Islam or Muslims for innate reasons yes they may be called that. But just saying by itself they disagree with the governments structure or how minorities or treated no.

Regarding Judaism I’m saying the opposite btw, that Zionism isn’t inherent to the religion.

And even if they do that has no institutional power, whereas if you say you don’t believe in a Jewish state for years you’d be blacklisted in major industries.

- Because the religious component showed up after the fact to justify it, their wasn’t a religious motivation to create israel when it was actually created. Most religious Jews were actually against it at the time and those that initially changed their mind did so based on other reasons.

- Also, let’s say I acknowledge it, so what? What does that have to do with what they are doing now, it’s not a lack of acknowledging Jews consider the land holy (which I never denied, I denied this was motivation for and the reason for a Jewish state) that causes them to occupy millions of Palestinians and launch wars of aggression.

- No because the nature of the Muslim nations is different. They have other problems like authoritarian governments and religious extremism. But that’s not the same as declaring itself a state only for Muslims and actively pushing other people out to let Muslims from all over the world move in.

And again, who is defending these countries? The mainstream attitude is their governments are corrupt dictatorships and most Americans supported the Arab spring when the people rose up. When comedians went to Saudi Arabia there was huge outrage. The difference is with Israel we are being asked to elevate them to greatest ally status and told we owe them billions of dollars and fighting wars for them.

Compare the criticism of Saudi Arabia executing Khasoggi to the criticisms of the literally endless amounts of journalists israel killed including before the current conflict like Shireen. The former even got public criticism from the US government.

Except they are STILL doing it.

You don’t see Americans colonizing Native American villages and staging lynch mobs. The attitude among most people is that was wrong and at least legally they have the same rights.

Israel is still denying the ethnic cleansing the country was founded on, denying Palestinian national aspirations, and still trying to expel them and settler their lands.

If israel had the attitude towards Palestinians today that Americans had towards native Americans and blacks, 99% of the people complaining wouldn’t care, including me.

So far the only thing liberal zionists have done is work to stop any sort of effort to stop the crimes of their government by insisting it doesn’t represent them, yet it continues often with their tacit approval. That would be like when the Americans were colonizing natives if some outside power was being pushed to sanction them a bunch of liberal Americans insisted that their definition of creating America is different and worked to stop any sanctions and attacking anyone who criticizes it, meanwhile the colonization continues unabated. It’s ridiculous.

If you pay attention you’ll notice earlier there was way less criticism of Zionism as a whole and actually a lot of support of Israeli dissidents. What changed was we watched for 3 years as polls came out showing almost uniform support or disinterest in the war crimes. And liberal zionists defending them until it was too late then turning around and saying they changed their mind but still lobbying hard to crush protestors, not be removed from any international events, not lose aid or be sanctioned, implying their critics were antisemitic. Meanwhile things just escalate and escalate. We are literally on the verge of a global economic meltdown at this point because of this.

Over time it became clear the problem is Zionism itself when this is how it’s “liberal” advocates behave.
