AI stealing is bad, but i think the datacenters are the worst offenders, no?

Well if it goes through, atleast the kangaroos can sleep better. :P

Lol. At that rate just ban AI from down under.

They might go overboard with regulating it, but i would rather have that than the US technocracy. They can ease up on it later if they want to.

Its not like they are missing out on anything by not becoming a competitive on the global market.
Subsidize one Australia based AI company and they are good to go.

I think it's good and this will allow the true competitive advantages of AI to really shine as opposed to the hype components.  The tech bros have gone too wild with this stuff and being careless with data centers have truly endangered people. They should roll it out responsibly.

My concern is that China seems to be more cutthroat with it and won't care as much about AI regulations and will thus win the AI race but the US won't let that happen so it will be an epic showdown that's for sure.

Australia is hot and their current government is reasonable from what I hear. They are not going build any datacenters anywhere that is not near the coast so might as well set some ground rules. Real estate is surprisingly limited in Australia unless you don't mind living in a bum fuck desert.

Beautiful if they can pull it off. Australia is doing so many great things of late and don't whore out their values as much as EU and US have past few years, but it's also true they aren't actively ruled by a crazy maniac (Trump), or are fighting a war right at their doorstep (Ukraine).

See what I did there...gave you a pre rational analysis of why you're country is great! 🇦🇺🐨👑♥️

Nobody cares about datacenters when you can run frontier Chinese models on your own machines. That's what's happening at the moment with Kimi K3.

When they figure out how to use human brains for data processing China is going to turn Uyghurs into computers. Even AI will be slave made. Mega datacenters and tokens cheap as dirt.

Yes just stop, its like you are racing and going slower on purpose. You may as well just take the free versions the countries have.

If AI can work it will have to discover how to solve its own problems or we will have to cancel it all.

IE discover how to make itself use less water and less power.

This is like Germany (both halves I guess) passing a legislation about nuclear de-escalation and disarmament during the height of Cold War, it's like buddy, chill, you got not stakes in this game lmao does Australia even have a water for the A.I. data centers to steal in the first place?

Yep.

Cloud hosting is the new decentralization of data centers.

Just like bitcoin mining, if there is any incentives to sell compute, people will do it, or even some countries might just become data centers farm.

If only we could harness that leg and arm power.

Being kicked by a kangaroo while they balance on their tail has enough force to gut a man.
