Unhealthy Aesthetic Mindset

9 posts in this topic

So having aesthetic intelligence is important, but that's not what I'm talking about right now.

A person who has an Unhealthy aesthetic oriented mindset is emotionally disgusted and cannot live in an environment that lacks certain aesthetic things. Things in the home must be ordered in a specific way and have a specific beauty to them or else it's intolerable and they suffer.

For example, somewhere in the house, there's a computer and there's some ugly wires hanging out, well this is like a splinter in the mind, disgusted and incapable of having this computer there ugllyfieng the space.

Every time they wake up in the morning and they see the thing they feel bad, over and over and over and over and there's nothing that could stop it.

They can't tolerate anything that is perceived imperfect or broken, like a scratch on the wall, their car has an extremely minor accident like some small paint missing, the table can't be empty yet it cannot be cluttered, things cannot remain the same either because then it becomes stale. Having the living room organized in a specific way for too long causes dullness that that needs to be rearranged for the next satisfaction.

All attempts to communicate metacognition to this person is met with defensiveness and deflection. "I DONT LIKE it PERIOD!" They cant see beyond that.

I feel like growing up means letting go of this obsession with perfection

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

That is horrible.  Are you going through this with someone close? I feel your pain.  I have someone i am very close with struggling with OCD and Bipolar disorder and is afraid to take meds because of their OCD.  It's a horrible suffering.

i am, but i dont know if its OCD, im so used to it it just seems like its there value system?

I get the impression everyone lives like this, they have their fixed values married to their ego and then they on a daily basis have a negative emotion when ever they face there values conflicting in the real world.

If absolutely is bro. Its a mental disorder that needs treatment.  The sad thing is that mental disorders often go without proper treatment.

Some people do have this tendency, they are very particular in wanting things to be a certain way.
