Posted May 13 (edited) A cult is not an either/or diagnosis. People always think a cult is only when the leader exploits its members for money, sex and other stuff but that is not the case. A cult is usually something that tries to mimic the order of God, but it is always perverse, claims exclusive truth and egocentric like certain death cults who consciously or subconsciously push their members towards death. Posted May 13 (edited) Call this place a cult, or not. His criticism is valid. This place is a dangerous for some people. Half the community are incels and unemployed people who haven't built a life for themselves and aren't fully grounded in themselves or their integrity. The teachings here are reckless. Leo has gotten better over the years with what he teaches, but his old library is still up. Leo is honestly super autistic and lacks maturity and wisdom to guide most people seriously in my opinion. You have to be able to keep up with his style and his chemistry and his ability to alter his state. And he is thinking of running a retreat with security armed with tasers, a tour up Mt Everest. I hope you're prepared for this because this is the one thing which if even the slightest thing goes wrong, your entire image will be fucked. The criticism is valid. Still Leo is an interesting person and a great writer and I do like him a lot, so his insights are really cool to read and learn from especially on certain topics I gravitate towards. Oddly I don't come here for spiritual teachings, I come for insights more on life and new was of thinking/reasoning. You can split hairs calling this place a cult but yeah, Leo can be an unsafe person to lead. There are much safer and better people to learn psychedelic protocols from. A lot of unwell people will gravitate towards this personality type that lets one give up their responsibility and kowtow to a model and terms of thought that you should be sovereign and the center of yourself, your spirituality. I'm fine with videos like this. The average person should be aware that actualized.org is a dangerous place. Edited May 13 by Lyubov

Everybody has personal style & chemistry. There is no obligation to 'keep up' as you might be able to tell by some of our members here :} State alteration is not a requirement, but it sure is wicked useful. Insights are cool, but that is only the tip of the insight iceberg. Insights go wayyyyy beyond cool. Insights can be awe inspiring, terrifying, beautiful, magical, unsettling, love inducing, disturbing, incredible, hellish, divine, good, bad, or indifferent. Insight can be survival assisting or stifle those abilities. It can be traumatizing, or healing in masterful ways. You could never imagine what insight is capable of without first having it, as insight itself is what lies beyond your current vision & imaginative capabilities. It is like breaking through into another layer of reality. Like living your entire life in two dimensions, suddenly to realize there is a third. Posted May 14 (edited) I think nobody here has even read the Wikipedia page on cults and are just having an emotional freakout to being called a cult. When I learned about cults in uni, it was defined in contrast to sects in that sects create their own version of (and claim to be the "true version" of) some existing mainstream religious denomination, while cults essentially create their own kind of religion. Their beliefs are not tied to just one single religious denomination. They may synthesize many of them or simply create "their own beliefs" (if that's possible), often through the personal machinations of the leader. And as a result, they end up being at odds with the surrounding society in some way. And that increases group cohesion, and especially when the leader is very charismatic and has self-proclaimed superiority over not just the members but perhaps the rest of the surrounding culture and society, that is where the psychological and group dynamics commonly associated with cults start to take form. And before your mind goes to "but Actualized.org is not a religion", feel free to read the Wikipedia page on that too. Posted May 14 (edited) @Carl-Richard That is not what defines a cult. A cult is a fringe group that uses deliberate mind control techniques to extract money, sex, and power from its user base. A cult is about abusing and exploiting its members in a pyramid like structure. Fringe ideas does not a cult make. Actualized is not a religion. If you don't understand that. then what do you understand? It is shameful that I even need to explain this to anyone here. The epistemic standards of Actualized.org are higher than anything found in science or academia or anything any YouTuber comprehends. The YouTubers who criticize me are epistemic morons and this should be obvious to anyone who studies my work. No one on Earth will teach you epistemology deeper than I will. That is, if you are willing to learn and aren't too cool for school. Edited May 14 by Leo Gura You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity. But I will agree the word "cult" is garbage, it's mostly used to sling poo at people you disagree with, and not all cults are super destructive and exploitative. And I'm not co-signing the garbage video above either. Intrinsic joy = being x meaning ²
