Probably 50% of all people have made some sort of mistake to do with sex/dating. Ranging from minor things like making a girl uncomfortable cause you have no game to major things. Not to excuse his behavior though. Just recognize that it isn’t exclusive just to elites but all people. Sex/dating requires responsibility. Sleeping with a 16 yo when you 30 is a pretty big mistake. Was 20 years ago. I imagine he has grown a ton since. He’s reverting to a lower stage of development though since when the going gets tough it’s quite familiar to go back go something that absolves you like Christianity.

According to Google the age of consent in most states in US is 16, so not sure why that specific reveal by Brand was that controversial.

That age usually only applies when the other person is close in age, like within 5 years of age.

It is super weird to have a 30 year old having sex with a 16 year old. Obviously Brand knew what he was doing was creepy and wrong. Which is why he was hiding it. None of this needs to be explained to him. He knows exactly what he did.

Because he has been caught with his pants down and it's too obvious to deny now. He is doing PR damage control to soften the blow to his career and reputation.

But there is nothing he can really say to make his past behavior okay. He was an insanely reckless drug and sex addict. There's no putting lipstick on that pig. And he is now making a fool of himself by siding with Fox News and right-wing MAGA people. Getting in bed with MAGA is worse than getting in bed with a 16 year old. At least back then he was an addict. Today he should know better.

I went to have a look at his channel. He recently did a piece where he dissed Mamdani, but Mamdani literally represents what he stood for at one point, before all this Trump madness happened. Funny enough, when you look at his comment section, the people who actually still support him are the church people.

I hear you, it might be hard to definitively prove that he went MAGA/Christian just because of the court case tho. He was always buddy buddy with people like Joe Rogan etc.

There's a shit ton of crazy conspiracy Russell dove into. And much, much more. I've been seeing bits of him here and there for years. He seems to have a very unstable sense of self and flip flops paradigms and beliefs.

One thing you can say for Brand is that he beat heroin, so in court the emphasis will be on how much he has changed, for less harsh sentencing. Not being able to locate that bible verse didn't help tho.
