Anger is not always wrong

12 posts in this topic

When a mature person gets angry it's because there's something very serious happening and it needs to get dealt with immediately.

But our society doesn't allow for anger to happen in a healthy way and it to be recognized because there's just too much unserious unhealthy immature anger circulating.

  • Angry is health if: its at the right things, in the right way, at the right time. It's to know what to take serious and what to not.

Our society has created very soft people that are running away from any negative emotion and are trying to insulate themselves from The Real World.

Sometimes when someone is angry at you  you have to self reflect and not block it out  and not defend yourself.

The automatic defense mechanism because you have to Shield yourself from The Real World will make you very ineffective at getting through life.

When there is anger or unpleasant emotions in the environment stop trying to run from it.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

@integral  This is a wise insight, 2 years ago I recognized that more I run from negative emotions more they get amplified and paradoxically  more I accept them the lesser they disturb me or get reduced.

Thank you.

If I try to stop what I am truely thinking, I notice that it will come up days later. Somedays I wake up and my mind is just saying the nastiest shit all day.

If you are talking to someone and dont honestly think or acknowledge to yourself about what they are doing it will go into storage.

Anger is a powerful emotion that compels us to action. When it is not allowed, or suppressed - it turns into depression and immobilisation.

I don't want to make this a gender war - but men are NOT allowed to express anger in the way women are. And it's sad. Men get castigated for being angry by society....

I think suppressed anger causes a lot of the depression, hopelessness and nihilism in young men. Emotions need to be allowed to pass through. Suppress them and you end up in a bad place...

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

Solid advice - which doesn't necessarily mean that anger is "right" either; it's an emotion.

A question to look at is: What is it?

It's a pretty fundamental emotion. Hurt, in one form or another, underlies it.

@UnbornTao The hurt is the suppression of anger lol. If you cant express anger you must change it to victim.

Like there is an angry man inside of you and you are like you cant be that! Whats the angry man going to be? Very sad.

Why do you dislike me so much? I want to be angry, its what I am.

If you were allowed to express your anger freely without being shamed, there would be no victims, except those that victimize themselves through your anger.

lmao well this is I think an example of unhealthy anger and what all of society is trying to tune out and why we built a culture suppressing anger.

The problem becomes when you have some very legitimate serious reason and no one is responding to your emotions because we're tuning it out.

And we're rewarding the opposite Behavior even when it's Psychopathic manipulation, like everything happening on social media or in government. We reward any behavior that makes us feel good, and we block everything else out like in a hedonistic way.

@integral I stopped telling myself when people pissed me off and I think its effecting my lower back. Days when its hurting alot there are alot of crazy thoughts running through my mind all the time. I think I need to start openly calling people what my body thinks they are (at least inside my mind). Pretty much I think life is so fucked you stop narrating your experience and suppressing all these things the invisible man wants to react too.

Its like everytime I want to think that someone is a retard or a peice of shit I dont and it sits there and then it comes out on one day.

This happens alot to me as I am very hyper aware of judgement and I see judgements happening 1700 times a day.

The awareness of judgements makes me judgemental.

Another survival mechanism.

Is it, though?

Seems to me like the anger is meant to manage the pain. Left alone, the hurt is just that - pain, and does not by itself imply anger. That is, the pain comes first, the manipulation of anger, second. Feeling like a victim might occur at any point and throughout the process, yet it does not seem to be a requirement here (although we usually regard the anger to be caused by something else other than ourselves, so on a tacit 'victimization' feeling we agree.)
