Leo’s Reels/Shorts Discussion Mega-Thread

13 posts in this topic

This is a much better place to discuss them more in-depth than the comment section on the platform, naturally.

But let us not forget to comment and like the posts so that the algorithm pushes his posts. And for the sake of your own algorithm.

I suggest we start the discussions here by first naming the Reel (Leo titles them in the thumbnails in a very cute way), and perhaps even link it, cuz it seems like there will be plenty!

We are in the digital dark ages.

Man, I am reminded of a scam I recently bumped into. This is peak example of what Leo is talking about, powered by fucking AI:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXfer81JgSJ/?igsh=MXFwMWZzYml5bnR4Zg==

He uses AI to fake himself being a famous streamer. The AI can respond in real time by ”donating” and ”commenting” cuz it hears you. It can even fake Drake to be on the other end of the live with you.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGlMbsIxJKN/?igsh=OXdua2pyMHVqdWE3

He then uses that fake clout to get all sorts of material goodies.

And as someone who has talked with too many thousands of people to count, I can definitely see this working like a charm, especially in an unconscious place fueled by alcohol like clubs and the nightlife.

And the worst part is that this is all legal.

This is literally the devil at its peak, and by-passes ALL the development of a human mind, and is competely antitethical to the work we do here. At least a real famous streamer had to put in a lot of hard work.

This is selling your whole soul to the devil for max immediate rewards.

I'm contemplating Leo's latest post on his struggles with disillusionment.

To what degree is it possible to simply be satisfied with being conscious while living as a human?

This is the question.

"Finding your reason can be so deceiving, a subliminal place.

I will not break, 'cause I've been riding the curves of these infinity words and so I'll be on my way. I will not stay.

And it goes On and On, On and On"

The disillusionment post caught me also.

I wonder if this is a product of dissolving conditioning to release attachment (so, grounding).

The content consumed during this time would need to be spectacularly screened/filtered to not pollute the new soil being tilled.

Social media algorithms would be terrible during this process.

@Leo Gura Now that's a real shower thought. Since you're experimenting with content lately, you could try and go viral making insights like these + quotes and lesssons from your blog and compile them into a kind of "high-consciousness shower thoughts" compilation. Something like Aperture's series on YT but obviously more serious and existentially practical. Could also be a good way to revive your Actualized Clips channel:

Haha Leo I am enjoying this bite-sizes videos, maybe I am stupid but I like when somebody just drills this basic facts into my mind about spirituality, ontology, self-help :)

Disillusionment Post

Oh how I appreciated this post. It made me realize precisely why I am NOT currently engaged in spiritual practices — even though a part of me REALLY wants to be!

The more you engage the spiritual, the less practical and conventionally successful you can be. Why? Because you stop caring about material goals — duh!

With the goals I currently have in life (paying off debt and moving toward financial freedom, finding a dream girlfriend/wife, and having a family in 10ish years), not going hard at spirituality the way I did 5 years ago just makes sense. At 23 I meditated daily for over a year, took psychedelics, and made amazing leaps in consciousness at the time. At 28 I'm becoming balanced in the practical, the real, the material; I am too young to depart for the stars fully.

@Leo Gura Keep up your great work on IG. I really like how succinct your insights are on that. Keep it up.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

I highly doubt Leo’s deepest insights would ever get virality. And even if it does, it’s because of some dumb shit like his bookshell had the book ONLYFANS or something like that.

Even if he did go viral, 99.9% of his new followers wouldn’t stick for his real work, and will only make his account’s algorithm bad, as he will have a lot of shadow followers, who don’t engage.

This is the question.

Yes, at some point, the question leads to: why be a human? Why be alive when one could go back and bask in finite consciousness?

Disillusionment post got me thinking as well, because it hit home.

The more material goals I succeed in, and the more I observe myself after the event, basically everything fades away, all the excitement and happiness fades away after some time, new problems and challanges arise, and it's like nontsop chasing of fullfilment.

Sure, life becomes more comfortable, also healthier and survival a little bit more secure, and mental health gets improved as a result of that security and physical health, but still, there seems to be a huge hole in my existence, an itch that doesn't get scratched by anything I've done so far, and that bugs me a lot.

Also, I haven't really invested in spirituality yet enough for it to bear some fruit for me, so I don't have that divine connection to Truth and Reality that @Leo Gura you talk about, so is the answer in that direction?

I think this disillusionment without proper spiritual context can become very problematic and unhealthy, when you feel like there's nothing more to life than chasing that cheese and you realize that no amount of achievement will truly be enough, I mean that's scary.

What are you guy's thoughts on that?

I think this format works for Leo. Very low barrier to entry for him to relay out wisdom inspired in the moment.

Small efforts of output like this build momentum for work and motivation. DO the motivation you want 😁
