How to use psychedelics for inner work?

11 posts in this topic

I'm heavily consider using truffles to supercharge some inner work I want to do relative to certain sticky mental stuff. Truffles are legal and easy to acquire where I currently live and I've done them before a couple of times, but not in a particularly serious way. I believe I do have some trip reports here from years ago btw.

This time I want to do some serious introspection. I'm not really interested in seeing crazy shit or anything. I have a definite goal here, so I'm asking for some advice:

  • Are truffles good for inner work? Are there any brands I should prioritize or avoid?
  • What is a good dosage for inner work?
  • How do you approach inner work on psychedelics in general?

What is inner work for you? Survival related stuff?

I'm afraid people here view spirituality and transcendence as inner work, but that might not be you.

From my experience, truffles are good for this kind of work. I don’t think the brand matters much, and around 20–25 g works well for me.

@Basman You're right, they were very deep trips.

The trips I had on 15 g were weaker, more like a moderate dose, and not as effective for deep inner work for me.

However, I've only tripped six times on magic truffles, and those were my first experiences with psychedelics. I don't know how it would be now that I have more experience.

Amanita Muscara mushrooms are underrated.   You take them before you go to bed.  They put you into a deep state of relaxation and the mushrooms work through your dreams.  I have had vivid mystical dreams with downloads of spiritual knowledge.  The best way to get access to your unconscious mind where the trauma lives is with dreamwork.  The mushrooms are legal so you can get them anywhere.  You can buy a tincture or gummies.

Dosage and strains is something you can research online.  Plenty of good resources.  Some experimentation is typically involved so I hesitate to say "take X amount of grams of strain Y and do Z".  "Five dried grams in silent darkness" is the usual anecdote but your mileage may vary.

They're great for inner work, particularly trauma but you best be prepared if that's something you want to take head on with shrooms.  The reason why they are great for trauma is the same reason they are not risk free - you are going to be forced to confront it whether that's your intention or not and the mushroom doesn't coddle you in any way and will say the most hateful and despicable things to get the message to transmit.  It does not pull any punches and tells you exactly what you need to hear and you won't be able to get away from it.  If you are, for any reason, unprepared for that it can have negative consequences in a whole slew of ways I won't bother going into.

Its easier said than done but don't fight the experience.  Surrender is key.

The only advice I got before my death trip was "you don't want to end up crying in the fetal position" which of course, I did.  But then I worked it out by giving in and the healing process was in full swing.  Fare thee well.

Interesting. Never heard of tripping in your sleep. But aren't those poisonous? That's the mushroom lol

In my past trips, I experience some kind of emotional release and my thinking mind intensifying kind of. Deeply contemplative and very clear thinking. That's kind of what I want to access, but this time direct it more towards my issues. Last time I was doings sets of goofing around with zero gains.
