If you do 5-MeO even once then more than likely weed will behave similarly from that point forward. It does for me. Try that. Nothing like cosmic horror to get you put your weed down. Or maybe that'll make you want it more idk.
I used to only do it at night, enjoy some creativity and be done.

I liked cosmic space, and it happens also if you do a lot of psychedelics, no need for dmt.

weed is bad, more than people think, especially smoking.

it rewire your system and you'll have broken sleep, food disorder ( not eating or too much ) it just fuck up your system.

I've been sick almost 4 years when I stopped.
But maybe it's cause I smoked tobacco with it, and it was way stronger in this way.

Tobacco alone does nothing, but mixed with weed it makes you stimulated a lot.

Weed is an hard drug, people are delusional about it.

That's me.

I was once addicted to it, not like smoking many joints a day, but smoking a bit every day, for any reason (happy, sad, bored, hungry, horny, gym, study etc). I've noticed that i wasn't managing to stop, i kept thinking about it, like a reflex. And then, i had enough: on January 1th i quit it cold turkey. One year gone by, i got back to smoking on New Year's Eve (not planned, i was flirting with a hottie that rolled a joint and offered to me and i said "fuck it"). This joint was amazing and, since then, i never got addicted again, i smoke when i want and often i just don't. I don't think about it and even forget about itm even though i always have weed available and could smoke any time. I don't feel the need anymore because it isn't as pleasurable anymore, i feel a bit silly and a bit of a loser when i smoke without a good reason.

Weed addiction may be very insidious.

Weed may occasionally help expand one's perspective.

Find your own path! But don't underestimate a drug.

I read many comments about weed on this forum and i am saddened that most people haven't ever had real landrace heirloom weed. Its been chemically altered so much and bred to the T that like modern tobacco or alcohol extremely far from the original herb nature created.

This is why i spent years sourcing the most ancient strains from untouched areas around the world like Afghanistan, North Pakistan, Thailand, Jamaica, Nepal ect... then when i grew such seeds that have had minimal breeding and manipulation by the hand of man, i realized what true medicine was.

Its cause we don't get the real medicine and effects anymore, the psychedelic and healing potential, that we become addicted for more and more and leads to negative results and side-effects, we are getting "teased" with 1 - 5% of the natural product, and the other 95% a genetic modification / chemical alteration that has lost its spirit and body.

Then people say oh tobacco is bad, weed is bad, coffee is bad, chocolate is bad, but its not even that anymore, its something else entirely. Have a 30g block of real cacao and you will be blown away by the euphoria and antidepressive qualities compared to some dairy milk sugar coated chocolate bar you buy from the store with 0% real cacao but heavily processed and chemically altered cocoa (not even cacao anymore).

Go into the Amazon, try a maqui berry from the wild, it will have the antioxidants and healing potential of 100+ blueberries from the supermarket, and even then, so many compounds are totally lost that even if you eat 1000 blueberries, you will not get them, cause its so far from the original form and tree / nature it came from.

@paradiseengineering Here. Been on and off for 4 years. Just get busy and have a vision/mission. Don’t buy weed and get busy. The trick is to control your mind. Develop willpower and if if you are busy and don’t have weed don’t think of needing to quit just forget weed all together and the thinking habit will wear off. It’s your mind playing games on you. Win against your mind. Observe it and outsmart it. If you sleep on it will come back to trick you with past karma. And don’t feel bad if you fall again. Keep trying again and again until you dominate your mind and self belief/control increase and start winning on that habit.

Im happy that approach worked for you, everyone is different. I most often used weed to be able to focus on creative projects, rather than for relaxation. But i just ended up smoking all the time and isolating myself kinda. Im 2 weeks sober now just not having smoking weed as an option in my mind feels like the easiest option. Maybe not forever but sure for now.

I also wanna thank everyone for commenting. Im not sure if im ready for DMT yet haha but mushrooms from time to time are sure a good replacement.

I also figured out where the addiction started: (sorry if mentioning this is considered trauma dumping, if so ill remove it):

When admitting having smoked weed to the police when I was 19, I got a fine sendt home to my mom. She got so scared that she stopped eating and sleeping for days. I agreed to let her take urine tests of me for over half a year and sign a contract that I would never smoke weed again. The experience was pretty traumatic for both of us and It made me want to even smoke more, and at the same time feeling guilty for it.

Im not sure if talking about it with her would solve anything but Im at least meditating 40 min daily now and becoming more aware every day.

@paradiseengineering Thats what happened to me. Remember the mind doesn’t register the word “no” or any negation. When you try to stop thinking on weed or to stop using it or you try to think on forgetting weed, you are still thinking on weed in a negative way. So weed stays in your mind. Then you fight yourself and bla bla… weed is still in your mind. All you have to do is not buy more weed. And slowly you will forget about it but not buy trying to stop it or not to think on it, but because the karma will wear off by itself by not giving thought to it. Right now you think is hard because you recently did it or have not been able to quit and you are like omg I’m addicted, no. You are spinning in a loop you have not gone out because your anxiety of fighting it still gives life to it so it seems like it will not stop. It’s an illusion that only goes away by not giving any type of energy to it, neither positive or negative. And as I said. Get busy by the moment. If you don’t have a vision or mission right now, entertain yourself with many other things. That will replace the old weed thought pattern. And after some time you will be like hell, what was the relevance of that weed anyways… control and self belief will be back. After a month you will see how good sobriety feels again, there you will have choice to think clearly and see things correctly to choose weed consciously or not.

And another important thing I almost forgot. Are you smoking with friends? This is the biggest trap that will keep you in the vicious cycle. You have to cut them all or tell them you don’t smoke anymore and never do it with them again. No one should know you smoke if you want to have full control. Smoking with friends just brings problems and ruins the spiritual highs and insights that cannabis can offer.

I didn't even think of the social part of it. But yea, My brother in law just tried to hand me a blunt he was smoking while talking to my sister. He knows I don't smoke but will try to "verify" once every few months.

@Infinite Tsukuyomi People are the biggest trap. I would never have got into weed if my best ex-friend who was literally an undercover enemy had passed me that blunt innocently. How naive I was to trust people. The guy literally tried to destroy my life and reputation with his psychic abilities, long story…

If I were you I will test your brother “in law” to see what are his real intentions. You can get a lot of information about who he truly is by his behaviour. Pretend you want and pullback but never accept it even if he forces. See how far he will push it. All the people in a weed vicious cycle will try to drag you in. Even family members did to me. It was the hardest part of getting out. If you ever do it, do it alone and far away. No one should even suspect you did it by the smell or they will snitch on you and ruin you. Happened to me thanks to that friend who I almost wanted to kill with my own hands. No one can be trusted these days. I have learned the hard way to not even trust my parents.

Can you have it in front of you and be free to either take it or not? If you abstain you aren’t free. If you indulge you aren’t free either. You make the decision. My mom never tried weed in her life but has the worst relationship with it in my direct circles. The stories you tell yourself matter. Well actually they don’t but you get what I mean.

I get your point, but I also think that having true freedom also includes being honest with yourself where you are at in your journey and how mentally strong you are at the moment. Would you tell the same thing to an alcoholic? I dont believe there is no size fits all. I have in the past gone from daily smoking straight to "just not buying", and I just end up hanging out with the wrong people just to smoke, going to smoke spots and find roaches to smoke in a apple pipe (nasty shit I know:D). In that case, my identity havent shifted, I still see myself as a weed smoker. But these two weeks I have weed free simply with the mindset that I dont currently smoke I have had little to no urges. Simply beacause my mind dosent see it as an option.

For example I was flirting with this pretty goth babe this weekend and at the tram home she opened her purse and it smelled like weed. For some reason it wasnt triggering for me simply because i thought "oh i dont smoke now" and didnt think much of it because I didnt see it as an option. Eventually I would like to get to the point where I only do it socially/special occations or on festivals/cabin trips etc, but I know that im not completely there yet and thats OK. Longest ive gone sober from weed is 46 days (in 12 years). Before that I had a very turbulent childhood and adolescent before I found weed. The most healthy thing would be to build good memories without the herb too before I can eventually re introduce it. After 2 weeks sober my mind already feels much clearer, I feel magic again from life, like cleaning a mirror that was filled with gunk. I notice that people seem much more friendly towards me, girls smile to me, I am so focused on my art and music and building new relationships. Despite the pain I feel just better and better and I dont even want to smoke now.

Also luckily most of my friends dont smoke, or they will partake like once a month. I have a couple of stoner friends but I see them really rarely and our relationships seems a bit fractured because of the weed use.

Hmmm if there was a bag of weed in front of me now I would throw it away because I know at a low moment my impulses could get me. I think there is levels to freedom and one isnt always 100% free overnight and thats OK. Freedom at this stage would be accepting ones limitations and that one has little controll over moderation. It is not 100% freedom, but it is at least much better than smoking all the time when you dont want to. A first step. And then having felt the freedom of abstaining for a long enough time (and hopefully having grown spiritually), one has leveled up ones freedom to be more flexible.

"If you abstain you aren’t free. If you indulge you aren’t free either." May I ask what your definition of freedom would be here? I think I get what you mean im just curious.

Weed dissociates you from salient aspects of your psyche that you want to be connected to for personal development. Perspective change, creativity, may arise, but at the cost of a more narrow cognitive stream (and perhaps expanded being stream, but in a narrow fashion).

Vaping is useful for creativity and inspiration. Eating / brew or edible is more powerful for deeper psychedelic experience and more body-oriented than mind as with vaping and smoking. I personally don't feel weed that harmful like MDMA to need to take such supplements but what is helpful is taking it with a few drops of CBD oil to balance out modern strains very high THC content which seems to help a lot. Herbs teas are helpful too. Having a hearty meal before or after is always helpful and healthy fats like avocados and nuts and seeds especially to lubricate the nerves and act as a type of shield to neurons and such. This is more crucial with harsher drugs but doesn't hurt to be more protected of course. Turmeric (curcumin) is also very helpful, protective, and synergistic with cannabis use that could easily be paired with ginger.

A brew with turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, coconut milk and raw honey is an excellent brew for the entire body and brain and will protect from most things, add a few drops of CBD oil in this, you have the perfect combo.
