No life purpose seems meaningful enough

We live in a world of abundance and overconsumption.

There are tons of good paintings, songs, games, clothes, everything...

There's too much of it.

And then you are supposed to pick life purpose and be productive and do more of that. But what for? There is already too much. 

For your life purpose to be meaningful, you need to either be doing something really niche and special, like Leo, or bullshit yourself into believing that it is.

I like sewing, I like exercise. I was considering making a youtube channel about either of these but what for? There are already millions of videos about working out and learning how to make clothes. We don't need more. We don't need more clothing brands either, there are already too many of those...

If we are being honest, the best decision would be to get out of that cycle of production / consumption entirely. But then you would starve to death.

Maybe doing something niche and special can be done in most fields. For example, exercise is huge industry right? What type of exercise do you like? I'd imagine there are some many sub-niches in exercise.

Maybe it's an issue of not-being creative enough. And to be so creative in some field that you come up with something original, requires a lot of experience in it. You can't just innovate a field that's just a hobby of yours.

Also, it doesn't have to be inovating, just a creative solution for some set of problems that people have in your niche.

What is the future of sewing? Can you make 2060's clothes? Can you invent a new kind of niche style and apply 1000's fans approach to sell? Can you invent materials? Sewing techniques? 3D Printing Clothes On Demand At House?

Ask more deep questions, learn about inventors, innovators, pioneers.

@Something Funny That's why things like the life purpose course exists - to help you figure out a meaningful purpose.

It's very normal to feel this way. 99% of people have no idea what they should meaningfully pursue, its a process of discovery and is not meant to be done alone - books, courses, coaching, etc are necessary for most people

Don't think in terms of binary - I have my life purpose or I dont. Think in terms of discovering who you are and narrowing your lp down to align with what you discover. If you dont find anything meaningful odds are you havent explored enough things/dont know your values.

Very true, but I'd surmise that it often eventually makes at least some money as since LP involves someone on the path of mastery, they end up providing massive value to some that are likely willing to pay for whatever it is they're doing

But yeah, it's a limited way of thinking to assume LP can only be something that makes money. I believe I recall Leo saying it's very likely many of us will have to  make money in a stage orange entrepreneurial way to fund their LP
