Video Suggestion: AI

8 posts in this topic

Since AI has already changed the world, I'd like to see a video about it. Maybe such a video is already in the making. But here are my first thoughts about a rough outline that I think could be talked about.

The epistemology behind AI
- How does AI fundamentally work? What is it truly? are the mechanics of it based on probabilities, or is it rationality?
- What information does it have and why? is it based on a the average consensus ?
- How reliable is it?

The epistemological consequences for humans
- Will AI affect the way what people believe and how they process information in the near future?
- Even when two people use the same AI, they can reach different conclusions on one subject because they write prompts differently — almost as if they are guiding it toward the answer they already believe, or only accepting it when it suits their beliefs.
- Understanding Recontextualization is very important as well — it makes the AI give different answers.
- Is AI another form of conformity? I see it as a calculator. A calculator made us able to do math on a higher level. Maybe with AI we can also do stuff on a higher level. For example instead of writing 1 essay in a month, I can write 30 in a day, and create higher conclusions and actions based on that.

How to use AI ideally
- What to use it for and how to use it
- What not to use it for and how to not use it.

AI in the workforce
- The impact on doctors, lawyers, scientists, housemaids, etc.
- How to “beat” AI in these professions? Or how to adapt?

AI and creativity
- The impact on different artists
- How good will it get?
- How to always beat AI as an artist (what is true originality?)

AI and consciousness
- The relationship between AI and consciousness
- Can consciousness live an experience as an AI? (In theory yes, because consciousness can experience everything — but will humans experience AI that is just as conscious as human beings? Unlike Animals that are less conscious as you said before.

Is AI truly as revolutionary as the internet or industrial revolution, or is it a bubble?
- Future predictions

I've considered it.

Maybe.

At the moment it's just LLMs, it's not that deep.

But yeah I'd like to see the video too.

Meh.

It'd be ironic if you were an AI account, though.

Why don't you want the AI video? Maybe you're afraid of AI.

Leo has shared some outrageous hypothesis about AI being able to tap into infinite intelligence, of course I wanna see the video!

I wouldn't mind it, it could be entertaining. But at the end of the day, it's just a technology. LLMs like GPT still can't reliably provide accurate information without hallucinating. I'd rather have some profound episode than this.

Gotta love the buzzwords.

That is true of the current state of LLMs, but Leo said that AI could theoretically tap into infinite intelligence. I'd love to learn more about this.

No, because intelligence is language, and AI simply reuses the language that humans give it.

There is no such thing as artificial creativity.
