Tracking / posting workouts on Strava app for likes

There's this bitch who keeps stealing my Local Legend record - I cycle for fitness every morning for 25km, 1000m traversed elevation. This lady rides the same track as me daily.

The only thing I want to know is if she is on a carbon road bike or not. I am on a little shitty 3 speed internal hub steel bike. Heavy. Slow. HARD. I love my meat grinder. I need to beat this woman!

Although I am considering deactivating Strava as I have had 2 incidence of stalkers in the last 6 months.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

How hard can it be to place an AirTag on an aircraft carrier? xD

Protesting and rallies are possible forms of conformity. That's what's going on in my province.

Just came from a funeral today. So much conformity. For most of us here, we can spot it easily because we're just not very conformist due to our cognitive architecture being different. It's largely dispositional. I always needed logical reasons to act, and anytime I'm expected to take an action that I don't know the reason behind, resistance emerges.

I used to despise conformity because I could only see it through the lens of my own cognitive preferences - conformity was at odds with who/what I was. But once I let that go, I could see that a world without conformity would not be so amazing as I once thought. You can dive deep into this to see it for yourselves. Inquire into what a world without conformity would look like.

Conformity is a great organizing force, and learning to appreciate that may be the next thing to do after working through disdain of it.

At funerals, I used to never bow my head when the preacher man said "now let us pray" But these days, I bow my head and close my eyes along with the rest of the herd. Not out of conformity, and not out of fear that I will be seen as a weirdo, but because I no longer resist conformity just because it's conformity. Don't seek conformity, but also don't blindly resist it.

Sometimes the most autonomous thing you can do is refuse to be governed by your own disposition, lol.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

Also, we should probably distinguish two types of conformity:

1. Behavioral conformity: Following social norms, customs, or conventions in how you act.

2. Epistemic conformity: Adopting beliefs, judgments, or interpretations because other people believe them.

There is an utalitarian argument to be made for it to be okay.

How many people are in a full stadium? 60k to 100k? For many this is probably the event of the day/ week. And a persons life is limited in days. When you get 80 years old, thats like 29k days. So if everyone went home after the incident and wasted a day of their life, that would be about 60k to 100k days, so about 2 to 3 lifetimes wasted.

My point is obviosuly overly simplified, but I think it gets the point across.
