Does understanding god entail losing ones mind?

11 posts in this topic

It's something that came up in the last 2 acid trips I had.

This notion that in order to know God I need to lose my mind and become insane and that's how I can get to know god.

My ego was alive during the trip and resisted it, I didn't want to lose my mind.

Anyone experience something similar?

No, you don't have to go insane to wake up as God or lose your mind. You just have to let go.

Not at all. It's true now and you're doing OK. The problem is conflating drug trips with your notion of what it means to encounter "God."

It's whatever is absolutely true now.

The way i think about it is your "default" position is safe, survival mode. Anything other than that will feel like sanity cause youre in unfamiliar territory.

It's not losing your mind but it's breaking the limits of your mind, which includes safety mechanisms.

When I was a child for Christmas they bought me a drone. It flew very well. After reading the manual I discovered it has a secret advanced mode, from 50% power to 100%, it also deactivated safety mechanisms like stability, which allowed to make cool backflips. When I tried it, I was very surprised, but almost broke the drone a couple times because of pushing the limits. Understand? The drone is your mind.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

There are states of insanity that you can explore, and you will go insane for a time. These are not waking up as God, per se, but I guess it can happen, though. Have fun. And of course, one can fall and knock themselves out while on psychedelics.

Losing your "old" mind, "ego-mind", yes!

Losing weight is shedding your old body, but you don’t lose your organs and bones.

Depends on how deeply you want to know God and how you define "losing one's mind".

If a hardcore materialist rationalist experienced God he would consider that losing one's mind. From his limited paradigm it is that. Obviously it is not that from God's POV.

Any radical enough state change will start to feel like you are losing your self/mind/reality. But this can happen in healthy or unhealthy ways. It is important to avoid the unhealthy ways, which are harmful to human life.

You can trip in ways that injure you and ways that don't.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
