All dating/pickup issues are ultimately hormonal issues

15 posts in this topic

Often the guys that struggle the most here, are also the ones suffering of hormonal issues (low testosterone, low thyroid, autoimmune, etc.) which not only makes them uglier, but also unable to properly interact with women.

I myself experienced this, after I fixed my health it just became “natural” to talk and flirt with women, and to find a good girlfriend. It may sound weird but I can feel my testosterone giving me energy to interact with girls haha. Before that it was a struggle just talking to a girl.

Now it’s sad to see all these poor guys just watching more videos on pickup, while they should be focusing on their health…

Probably an oversimplification.

But yes, definitely get a hormone panel if you’re struggling. Testosterone but also DHEA, estradiol, SHBG, TSH, IGF-1 etc.

Too reductionistic. Low Testosterone might play a role in making you not confident to talk to a girl but not the only reason .

I've got pretty high testosterone and I'm still terrified of women lol. It's not logical.

High testosterone doesn’t mean much by itself. You need to see also DHT, androgens sensitivity, etc. The fact that you’re terrified of talking to women suggests you may have some issues there

If you're going to make a claim like that, no way you should just get to keep it at the "etc. etc." You should be able to provide us with an exhaustive list of all possible causes and leave nothing out

Testosterone is just the gas paddle. Being healthy is having your car in good shape. But having those things doesn’t guarantee you she will step in your car. Pickup is basically sales skills aka being able to sell yourself.

Back in the day I thought it would help me if I became a good fighter. But that back fired. Unless she is in trouble or in war time girls don’t prefer that kind of guys.

In peace time women prefer well balanced guy with whom she can make a connection. But for her to want that you need some attraction so you being healthy social able guy is a part of that. If you can’t get your dick up because of hormonal issues obviously that is a red flag for her.

Hetero male here-

Most (if not all) my struggles were a result of the inability to flirt and build attraction with the opposite sex.

The only cure for it at the time was practice through socialization with more women (people in general).

Sorry but it is simply not true. It is a matter of skills. They suck with women because they have shit social skills and 0 emotional intelligence.

Some people say, and I have thought along these lines, how it all kinda boils down to the brain, its chemistry etc then secondarily the body (for psychological health). Even someone like sadghuru sometimes can say something like how you are like a chemical soup.

But then don’t make the mistake of limiting this chemistry to the physical. You could say the mind/psyche/personality is manifestation of this. But also it goes the opposite way, so the mind etc affects the inner chemistry.

So a bad mind means some kind of bad chemistry, but it doesn’t mean to fix the bad chemistry you should fix the physical (like your hormones or get a medication or something). It could mean what you actually need to do is fix your mind. And in turn that will balance the chemistry.

So when people exclude physical health and just speak of the mind, they might not agree but the mind plays into health, so it’s actually linked and they’re speaking of health too

It’s just a matter from which side you attack it. By changing your mindset, challenging your fears, meeting and talking to people, meditating etc, all those things change the mind and it will in turn change your chemistry .

So don’t be fooled by thinking you have to deal with the chemistry exclusively via the chemistry itself…
