Not sure how the tobacco plants that they make ciggies from contains  CO.

Roughly 10% of smokers manage to quit in a given year (and roughly 2/3 of adults who have ever smoked have managed to quit). Being in the top 10% of something, that's like getting a B on an exam (in my country at least). It might take some work, and it might be harder for some than others. But simply envision yourself as being in that top 10%, decide that you are in that top 10% and you will do what it takes to be there.

No not rude . What's the difference between asking Google and asking in a forum ? Why post anything or ask anything on this forum if you can just Google it?  I think you know the answer.

I used to have a problem with smoking too, I can definitely sympathize.

Used to ? So you quit ? How was that ? Leo is right in this video .I can't stand sitting alone in a room doing absolutely fucking nothing for 5 minutes. 😂

Maybe that would help. Try 5, then 10, then 15… You smoke to distract from the shit that comes out in those moments. There is no easy solution here. Life is hard. Just do it. Just stand that you can’t stand it😉

I used to basically chainsmoke from age 17 onwards, among having other drug addictions. I understand the frustration of dealing with these extremely addictive substances. I'm still hooked on nicotine though I have long periods off it too. Its actually not very difficult to quit it if you can manage the first few days, I'm betting that is not your problem though.
If you keep coming back to it, like I have, it is because some part of you really enjoys it. It is giving you some sort of fulfillment, even if the downsides are outweighing any positives.
My advice is to accept and embrace that, if the time comes that you truly want to quit, you will. Its better to stop obsessing over it.
Also I would recommend using nicotine in another form, I prefer pouches. After having picked up a regular running habit, the idea of smoking cigarettes just doesn't even cross my mind anymore. Its just too antithetical to my life now. I use nicotine pouches and keep tabs of how much I use so that I don't overconsume them. I don't think they are very detrimental to your health, unlike smoking.

So in a nutshell adopting a lifestyle that demands quitting smoking ?

It took me countless attempts to quit but eventually, I did. Sometimes I'd make it a week, 2 weeks, a month, and even 3,6, and 9 months. When you go long enough without them, you realize you don't need them, and you can start the cycle back but then you realize you don't want to live like that and you remember all the struggles and realize it's not worth it. If a cigarette were in front of me now, I'd throw it away like it was nothing. I'm just not going back down that road. Non-smoker is part of my identity now. Smoking isn't something I do and I'm happy about that and miserable if it were otherwise. Not sure what the takeaway is but for me, it was just a lot of trial and error and persistance. People got annoyed with me trying to quit every week or two for a decade.

This might help: the nicotine leaves your body in about 3 days, so the first 3 days are the hardest. I used to lock myself in a room and do nothing but eat junk food and binge Netflix for the 3 days as a distraction from the cravings. It worked pretty good. After the 3 days, your body isn't yelling for it anymore. After the 3 days, you just have to deal with your emotions telling you you need it. At that point, it's matter of will and/or distraction. After a good amount of times passes, you'll realize you're fine without them and eventually, even the taste of a cigarette will be nasty and off-putting.
