Pursuit of truth has no relation to suffering.

Imagine only caring to connect with God to avoid pain. This is disgusting.

This is like only having sex with your wife because you are in pain. But if your pain stops you never have sex with her. This is sick.

When you are in a leaky boat you throw everything overboard that isn’t essential.  When the shit hits the fan, you tend to quickly abandon all the silly stuff that doesn’t work and focus on the truth for your own survival.  It sheds delusion.

You (actually many users here) may enjoy this lecture - the gentleman speaking is a great orator, which always helps with the digestion.

He goes into genetics, to body systems, to the mind and consciousness. Breaks down how they interact and how the mind generates emotions we experience through narrative (real/imaginary - makes no difference). It gets linked back to survival's maladjusted mechanisms that are active in the world today. We are doing these things we think we are plagued by. Things we are under the impression are external. The key is meditation. Cease all thought. Not knowing.
