Why did your family kick you out? What did you do at home before? Have you ever had jobs before that kiosk job?

I completly agree with Basman, take a shitty job, rent a cheap apartment, live a cheap live and make some savings and from there you can change your life. This challenge can grow you a lot.

I was working some shit jobs in my early 20s that didn't pay much. And i was very unhappy at those jobs.

This is why i didn't work for 5 years . All i did was self-actualization, meditation, programming, etc.

An addiction to weed and some other issues didn't help achieve some results that i wanted.

Basically i was kicked out for not working and some other reasons.

@SQAAD I know this is very painful, but there is a deeper lesson here for you about the importance of work.

You can't just expect to live for 5 years on someone else's dime as an adult. You need to learn to handle your own survival responsibly.

Sorry to hear of your struggles. Tough situation.

That doesn't seem realistic in your situation. How about getting a simple manual labor 9-5 job just to save up some money so you're not trying to launch a business from such a desperate situation. You need some financial cushion to work with.

Aren't there some basic jobs around like stocking groceries, delivery boy, truck driver, lawn work, security guard, bar bouncer, etc?

Look into something like truck driving. It can pay quite well with little experience. Trucking companies can even offer training and sign-up bonuses.

I know merchant marine ships offer great jobs and great pay with zero experience. They offer free training. And you get to travel around the world on a big ship. It's more interesting than normal jobs and offers months of time off.

I suggest getting more creative about searching for jobs.

There are people who earn money just from working on the streets. The guy in the video was making drawing and earning quite a bit of money.

Trucking requires license that i don't have the money for.

You can work up to it through more basic jobs like lawn work.

Print up some flyers for lawn work services and then hand them around homes and businesses.

I had a teen place a lawn work flyer outside my front door under a small rock. I took his flyer and might hire him at some point. It was a good offer.

Dog-walking is another common service you could offer.

I experienced a homeless person trying to sell me his art once before. an A4 copy machine print with some kind of drawing on it. It looked really cheap and pitiful, not going to lie. Like he was obviously just desperate so I offered my lunch as charity which made him really happy. He insisted I take the drawing, which I think I still have somewhere.

It is interesting you used the word desperation. It is a paradigm lock.

My bills are covered and I have a steady job, but even I find it hard to start a successful business. Get a job any job even if it sucks,, then just keep upgrading but never leave the one you have until you've found better. I tell that to everyone but you'll find it easier to get better jobs if you've been working previously and have the basics covered.

With AI there is good money to make.  And all you need is a pc. Mindset is worth money. The job is just the activity.

Drive Uber to earn cash! That's faster than selling 500 AI art in most cases!

His art was cheap looking junk and he clearly just wanted to get by. Street begging is also illegal where I then lived.

@Hojo Yes. I could sell them 2 euro a piece (They cost me 1 euro a piece).

Haven't attempted to see if it works..

Yes you can but why would anyone buy it if they also can ask an AI to make it for them at half the cost(or for free most realistically)? Pardon me but that doesn’t sound like a solid offer. I wouldn’t buy it.

Some people, particularly older people, are unaware of picture-generating AI. People also sell soda and fruit at the beach for profit. People pay for convenience and immediacy. Although in this case, many people would probably just pay because of pity (or to escape the situation if you're really predatory).

Yeah I can get that people buy a fruit out of convenience even though it’s a bit pricey but how does that apply to AI art? On the beach, selling a soda provides value. It’s hot & people want to cool down & they don’t care about 2$. Is there any context where AI art provides that kind of value? I don’t know.

Again, simply immediacy and convenience. If you like the picture and you want it and it's more convenient to pay 2 dollars than going through the effort of prompting an AI and printing out the picture, you'll buy it. Immediacy and convenience is actually arguably one of the main factors of commerce. If you wanted, you could make your own car, your own computer, grow your own vegetables, produce your own eggs, build your own house, etc., but that's usually not convenient when you can outsource that work to others with more resources and you just give them money instead.

If you reframe maybe most of your expenditures as convenience-maxing (or time-saving) and also investment opportunities, you'll become much more rational about how you spend your money. With money, people tend to operate on traditional principles and heuristics like "save your money" and being frugal when the way they spend their time otherwise is directly antithetical to the goal of money. For example, many people choose walking for 30 minutes to avoid spending a few bucks on gas or renting an electric scooter. Those 30 minutes can be spent investing your time in something valueable with compounding effects or actually working. Traditional principles and heuristics are robust, but not very comprehensive or flexible.

I've gained a lot by questioning how I'm used to spending my money or societal expectations around spending money. I spent 2k$ out of my own pocket on Meta ad campaigns recruiting people to my master's thesis project. "What?" you may ask, but I gained a spot on regional-national radio speaking about my project, I gained stellar data and immense sample sizes that are virtually unheard of in that setting (good for future career opportunitues and getting the work published), and I got my advisor interested in continuing working with me after the project. So that's definitely worth trying out.

That was maybe a bit of a tangent, but nevertheless, never underestimate the power of going against the grain and questioning socially reinforced notions, be it selling people soda at the beach or AI images on the street (although honestly, there are probably better ways to spend your time unless you thoroughly enjoy it).
