How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

@Miguel1 I like the selections that you've picked over Leo's, because there's more of a story involved. The genra still cause "distortion". Like for example "all heavy metal sounds the same". Do you get that vibe with some genras? lol. Its sort of like that with this one. Of course this is a personal things happening and not truth.

Overall im not satisfied with the answer that music is preference. I want a complete picture here.

I can't help but think that the appeal of this genre would be rooted in your childhood.

I have similar preferences in the italian genra.

Nah, just random music. I grew up listening to rap, samba, pagode, rock, eurodance.

Definitely. In fact I feel that way with most electronic music too. And honestly, with most music genres and songs in general.

In every genre, there’s just a few rare gems that has that specialness to it.

For example, this one is a complete different genre and most of the songs in the genre is total crap but if I want to feel deep into my pain, this one does it. I cant remember how many times I’ve cried to this. It’s raw:

I love how we have developed a lot of roots to a huge tree of discussion about Music, but we have yet to actually start and dive DEEP into it.

We had one minor version of it the other week.

It’s clearly coming.

I can see the appeal Oh i realized they are singing about there life experiences and i dont relate to it. Likely plays a major role why it doesn't personality resonate.

Like that specific thing they are singing about i have never felt that way about life or relationships or have never had that struggle.

Yeah, I went through 4 extremely painful break ups that grew me so fucking much. Each being extremely painful in its own ways. The first ones were painful because they were my first times, for the lasts ones I was mentally prepared for, but the relationships were way deeper than my first ones.

But on top of the lyrics, listen to the dramatic melodies and the tone of the singing towards the end. It’s very sad and seemingly hopeless. But she is still trying to win the pain. It’s bittersweet.

Bittersweet is one of the most powerful and emotional emotions I experience. It expresses the quintessential paradox of life.

@Leo Gura The music you like is the emotion you want to feel.

Do you see this?

Most of the music your choosing are all a very similar emotional tone.

Which is your preferred emotion for contemplation?

Bittersweet is one of the most emotional emotions for me. It is the paradox of life.

Yes i can see, its a sadness and spilling ones feelings out. It reminds me of Adele.
Definitly different from leos preferences that tends to be about "the beautify of life" but with a nostalgic tone.

Nostalgic beautify of life is the feeling that hits. Slight sadness to it but beauty of reality.

Id like to categorize the feelings/frame people are chasing with there music preferences.

Instead of genra we should have "frames".

Yep. Well said. And don’t get me wrong, I do listen to those more uplifting, upbeat and beautiful in that way -type of music too.

But here we dove into the topic of emotional depth. Also, as an emotional being and a dancer, I get the most out of my body, dancing skills wise, when I let deep pain take me over. Or anger, hence I started as a hip hop dancer but as I matured, I grew tired of ”biches, money and gun” type of music, and went more into love and  heartbreaks type of music, as that is more conscious than violence.

Interesting perspective. Or moods?

I literally have like 5-10 different ”frames” I juggle between:

- Majestic

- Pain, heartbreak

- Anger / Aggression

- Hip Hop beats that I like to kill with my dance

- Bittersweet

- Fun (mostly fun EDM, club and pop music)

- Sexy / Love Making

- Chill

- Contemplative

- Uplifting, Upbeat

And more

There is also a genre called Majestic Casual. It’s very beautiful:

That is called death.

This goes so deep that you are imagining time, past, and "how long".

If God doesn't imagine it, there exists nothing. Not even time or a past.

When you ask: What was I in a past life? God has to invent something, otherwise there is nothing.

Could God imagine that you were Cleopatra in a past life? Sure. Is it really true? True becomes whatever God imagine deeply enough to convince itself.

God could dream up such a scenario if it wanted to. But maybe it doesn't want to.

Yes, possible. But that wouldn't be anything like human life. That would more like a dream.

Yeah, whenever I hear people yapping about any "past-life" stuff, I immediately know there are not metaphysically serious. Same goes for "timelines, alternative dimensions, old souls and such BS." Not BS because they have not experienced it. But BS because its just another imaginary layer to consciousness, which is completely unbound by this.

I guess it's understandable that most people have confusion with how deep artistry goes.  Think of an artwork like a trip.

Very real. Intimately tied with emotion/psychology. Kind of like libido. Same for movies and shows too.

People don't get this and project negative emotions like "this makes me feel cringe and embarassed", etc., when it's quite clear a song or movie couldn't do any of that. :P

Yep, I’ve said this before but musical taste is one of those things that is deeply personal.

Hence:

Quote

"I'm too deep for your music."

Yo, get the fuck outta here.

But precisely because it is so personal, discussing it in depth has the potential for a lot of growth and self-reflection. Except, it’s far more likely we just start fighting and throwing personal attacks.

Aliens would be looking at us like little babies throwing tantrums xD
