Should probably be clear about what we are talking about. Personality disorders are different beasts to bog standard mental illness - although they are both under the 'mental illness' umbrella.

Prognosis for personality disorders is generally worse.

@Natasha Tori Maru100% and the problem with that too is the majority of people with personality disorders, such as NPD, for example, do not admit they have one, or are ever willing to go to therapy and seek a proper diagnosis. Which is why the statistics are not always accurate or true, there's not enough data (people confessing their disorder, or coming in for a proper diagnosis). They are in denial, and they literally believe nothing is wrong with them. Again, it's the lack of self-awareness that holds them back. And most of the time, that's a neurological issue, they are incapable of that cognitive skill. These people will get through their entire life pointing fingers and failing to ever look in the mirror, or look within. In these cases, there is no room or capacity for growth or personal development.

And yeah the more comfortable and free people feel they can open up, or talk about something personal, the more people will come out of the woodwork. We're seeing the same thing with sexuality and a crisis with sexual dysfunction.

For sure, most of these things were taboo 100 years ago and people hesitated speaking up. Hell, it's taboo in most places today as well. Also, if you wanted to talk about something, it wasn't like you could post a video on YT or TikTok.

Technologies played a huge part as well.

Yeah that's where things get hypocritical and kind of ass backwards sometimes. There's still a massive stigma, but people will use social media to express themselves, and how they truly feel, yet fail to do so in real life. There's a misalignment in how people act/what people are saying on social media versus how they act/what they say in society, in the real world, and to people's faces. It creates a cognitive dissonance.

The How To Be Funny video is great. I did all the affirmations and visualizations this past summer and it worked! Cheers!

Just finished listening to this one.

First of all, WTF, I wasn't aware that this issue was that bad in modern world. I knew it happens a lot in China, but the numbers that this guy talks about is crazy.

Why is nobody talking about this? Or at least I haven't heard much people talk about the severity of the issue.

Also, I liked the last part when he talks about his transformative experiences with psilocybin-assisted therapy, the way they brought back love and deep feelings in their lives via psychedelics.

Small point regarding the humor post:

I've always had a good sense of humor, especially since I've worked on my social anxiety after 20+ years old, and later when I watched that How To Be Funny video, I've realized that I was doing exactly that but somehow intuitively, and I also noticed that I liked doing that not only because I was getting positive feedback from outside, but also because it was fun. It felt really good. Just that.

When you are able to be humorous in a social gathering, but intuitively, not in a cringy needy way, it feels very refreshing and pleasant.

That one trait makes the experience so much better and fun, also social interactions much easier and resourceful even.

@Alexop yep. Some of the issues when the balance goes out. I am not anti-feminist, but I do see some mother's raising men and teaching them that men are bad or wrong. Masculine is bad or wrong. Couple that with broken families where father's are absent (no healthy masculine figure), it can be made to look like (to the young boy) that the father treated the mother poorly. And mothers can play into this with their sons and daughters. You end up with men hating their masculinity. Self hate and dysphoria.

Cucked soy boys who are capitulating and soft. And overly dominent woman. So it's men with un-integrated masculine, and women with un-integrated feminine.

Basically they end up with either a masculine or feminine shadow.

This is just one of many dynamics that can happen. Not saying it is the only one or the most common.

You just described Sweden.

I have a feeling that these countries are ready for a change. Mature women just have enough, they feel that something is very wrong. They have enough of utilitarian relationships and mother-boy interactions. People start to have enough of the extreme left nonsense, they start to see their flaws.

This man-child behavior has a term. It’s called “Weaponized Incompetence” and it’s a form of abuse and exploitation.

“Weaponized incompetence” refers to the tactic where men intentionally underperform at domestic tasks or childcare to avoid responsibility, causing their partners to take over. It is a form of inequity that creates unequal labor, resentment, and “shadow management.” While some argue it stems from poor socialization, it often manifests as a power imbalance that can lead to the end of relationships and divorce.”

I'd rather just press some keys to open up a cheating console and max out all my stats. I've done that in every single game I've ever played, can't do it in this one tho. What a shame
