another way to understand is to note that the process is similar to when you go to sleep
note when you "try to sleep" you cannot sleep?
we have all had those nights where we just cannot fall asleep and what we do is "try" to sleep which does not work
and then eventually, somehow, after sometime, we fall asleep
that's letting go of trying
true letting go happens without you knowing that you are letting go - you must also let go the idea/thought of letting go
@SoonHei thats a good analogy for it mate. Love it

super refreshing to hear this being talked about on camera, knowing that loads of people are gona be exposed to it!!!

35 minutes ago, robdl said:"I" and "resistance" or "fear" are all one and the same thing -- it's all a self-feeding loop of thought. It's thought that divides a self/"I" from "resistance", which creates the falsity of an "I" letting go of "resistance."
An "I" can get pre-occupied with the effort-action in "letting go" and this may only fortify-reinforce the "I".
i havent got a lot of the answers yet, im onto it though. I can understand everything your saying but i still have to get there myself. But i know it'll come

fuck me sideways boys, this insight hit me square in the face today and I near shite ma'sel.
Ok so, think about it...to attempt to "let go" would be to create the idea that there is something to let go of...therefore, to "try to let go" would be to cause us to solidify, in our minds, the ideas (that we've created) about what we're letting go of. THEREFORE the only way to truly let go is to not let go...to hold tightly to that which we are observing and to do absolutely nothing about it. just remember, don't believe me
Jesus guys, I had my first split second of raw consciousness the other day...felt like fucking lightning for 0.3 seconds, & for 30 seconds after I FULLY realised that consciousness is the only thing that exists. for 30 seconds i had it!!! i had a smoke of grass the help raise the old consciousness to so that helped.
I also realised that Leo and his band of physical outlaws here...what we're actually doing, is literally creating prophets of god...people who will change the groundings of the future of the entire human race. The knowledge we possess will shape the future generations until the end of our existence. When this information (or lack thereof;) ) becomes global, we will be known as the forerunners, the founding fathers. anyone who takes on this work becomes transformed, and subsequently, lead others to transformation and so on and so on.
We hold in our hand the keys to truth, death, peace and God. Holy.fucking.shitballs

I'm 88% self-centred. I mean, it's hard to take into consideration, other people's problems when they don't exist
lol.

Oh and see if you do breath meditation and just sort of..."let go" of trying to hear the messages from god...they all of a sudden rise up and you'll have them again. Bringing yourself to complete and utter physical and *mental* stillness/absence...removes the requirement for the messages to be hidden. But don't grab onto them. Only watch them, (I take small mental notes when I see them...small enough that they don't interrupt the message itself.) Then when I come out of meditation I know what I'm doing wrong.
Check it out:
1 John 2:20 "But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things."
- you have an 'unction' from the Holy One (God).
- you know all things.
1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? *But we have the mind of Christ*."
You have Jesus' mind.
Side note:
(1 Corinthians 12:27 says "Now you are the body of Jesus Christ." So your mind is Jesus and your body is Jesus...1 john 4:17 says "In this world we are as Jesus." Ask yourself, with these verses in mind, "what part of me *isint* Jesus?"
*Hint* hint* hint *hint* hint*...)

@Joshe yo, make sure and read my reply here (I think your more on the ball than you realise)...
What's up mate. So yeah, I was raised Christian and (because I tend to always question everything) I obviously questioned Christianity and everything with it, quite a lot. I mean, if these Christians are right...and there is a thing called "god", and if he is as big as they say he is...then I should definitely start studying this "god". And so I did. But the way I think about things, I have a tendancy to get to the bottom of them quickly, but god was different. It felt different every time.
I was struggling to make progress, and I started to "let god lead me." The nondual understanding of "God" is that he is just everything (you'll need to find that yourself though, through meditation.)
But I actually found a way in which me and "god" could communicate. It felt really fuzzy at the start...unsure, like trying to send codes to eachother, hidden in larger messages.
I got better and better at recognising when I was getting a hidden message from "him" (I don't actually know what god really is yet either btw). You can actually summon these messages when you get good at it. Actually the only reason I'm here right now is because of one of these hidden messages. I was watching this bald guy on utube one time, talking about some deep shit (which I always love), and boom...got a little note in through my subconscious right then. When I feel the nudge I have to let it manifest into words so I can understand it. The message behind it was "dig here" as if it was telling me where there was treasure buried under the ground. The bald guy on utube was leo.
So I had learned to always obey God in church, so I did. Then BOOM. I'm on my way to oneness with god.
One important point to make is that god is not what you think he is...because what you think he is, is a thought...god is not a thought. So feel free to let go of everything you know about God and just operate at the bare minimum knowledge you can work with...and listen for his messages lol.
But yeah, I shit you not...whether it was my subconscious, or I don't know what the fuck it was...I got a clear little small message telling me to stick with leo. I kind of thought, "how the fuck does this guy have deeper spiritual insights than my Christian teachers."
But yo ****check this out, you are in what I call the "sweet spot." This is important.
It's hard for me to explain, but this is like...a superpower for spiritual work. People usually have to get into lucid dreaming, psychoanalysis, and deep meditative states to hear god like this.
But see if you apply these messages to meditation. It's like, you skip over so many of the common problems in meditation. I've heard about people getting stuck on ONE PROBLEM for 10 YEARS. And I'm over here skipping over 5 problems a week. When I say "problem" I'm talking about the little traps your mind creates. False truths and dead end avenues. Get good at deciphering the codes, and recognising when there is one of these hidden codes laced in your conscience thoughts (and dreams).
Something that might encourage you, is something that encouraged me...this god has shown me the profundity that awaits those who continue and become enlightened. I can't even begin to describe how worth it, it is. God wants to help you...let him

@theking00 go to the "meditation, conscious etc" thread...then the top two are enlightenment exercises and Leo's practical guide to enlightenment. Read Leo's practical guide to enlightenment.
-
Leave no room for anything else other than pure, raw, present REALITY baby. and you'll be on your way to FUCKEN ENLIGHTENMENT like me ;);)
-
Nothing exists other than pure reality (apparently). Even the statement that everything is false, is false. Words and thoughts alike, create (what you might think of as) a parallel world...a reflection of reality.
Reality is not what you think it is, because what you think reality is, is still just a thought and not actually reality.
This leaves one inherent problem, you cannot be told how to find enlightenment.
Moral of the story, don't trust words or thoughts. I'm not saying don't use them, you need to (at the start) for your spiritual walk to happen. I don't know how, it just is lol. The best advice i can give...is believe nothing, especially everything I'm telling you right now

If everybody in the world woke up one morning and tore apart all the money, would the value of the world decrease, increase or remain the same?
I would say the value of the world would stay exactly the same, since all value is belief (or so I would believe). Regarding the functuality of the world (financially), if everyone ripped up their money the global economy would probably die instantly, leaving everyone to their own power to extract oil from fossils for their fuel, harness the power of electricity from somewhere somehow to power their phone and house. Everyone would either have to instantly agree to a different method of trade, or probably die. Lol but sure death apparently doesent exist either (that one I still need to discover.)

@theking00 just be sure to let go of spiritual things *especially*, when your meditating...that shit'll sabotage your ass. And sabotage your spiritual walk

@theking00 the worst kind of ego. In the bible, 2 corinthians 11:14 says "Satan comes in the form of an angel of light."
The goal of spirituality is to eradicate the ego. The problem is, you can't move towards what does not exist. You can only move away from what does exist. So there's a shit ton of tricks your mind is Gona play on you. I've had it before. It's easier to deal with thoughts and ideas that are blatantly opposing to your spiritual walk...but when ideas *about* spirituality manifest it takes you to be very clever and persistent to beat 'em.
It's paradoxical as fuck, at the start you absolutely *need* to allow certain aspects of the false spiritual ego to rise. You need to create some ideas about what spirituality/enlightenment is, otherwise why would you meditate? You would have no goal. A lot of stuff is still very fresh for me and so, even though I have these truths...a lot of them are still super confusing for me. But confusion is good.
The only two things you need to know about the "spiritual ego" is 1. It's absolutely necessary. 2. It will trap you if you rely on it.
Do not rely on any knowledge you have about reality, because any *knowledge* you have *about* reality is not itself reality...it's still knowledge (which is in your head).
This is as close as I'm Gona get to explaining it clearly. Good luck

4 minutes ago, Joseph Maynor said:The other thing too is you see what you expect to see — and this is the trippier thing, people will relate to you how you expect them to relate to you. Once you get more confident and open people will treat you well because they can see that you expect them to treat you well.
@Joseph Maynor totally totally agree, I've found this naturally. And this is why law creates criminals. Tell a child not to touch a wall with wet paint on it and it becomes the only thing in the world he wants to touch

@Aquarius meditation meditation meditation. Trying to gain muscle by choosing to gain muscle is impossible...it's not the choice, the actual development of the muscle takes place when you walk into a gym and stay there for an hour, every day.
Why would it be any different for the mind? Your mind is an infinitely more complex system, and your subconscious is in control the whole thing. Very little actual authority is given to what is known as "free will." Your subconscious controls your pain, digestion, blood circulation, the respiratory system, throwing up, sex drive, sex orientation etc etc etc. So don't fall for the idea that you can change something fundamental about yourself by "trying harder."
I recommend one, or both of these methods.
1. The "neti neti" method that leo talks about. Which will dissolve the idea that you exist, and how can you be worried if there is no "i" to be worried? (I do this one)
2. Law of attraction. Check out the teaching behind law of attraction if you don't know it already. There's a lot of western commercialisation of this though, like "get rich quick" schemes. Try to get to the bones of it. How it actually works is, you have a vibrational energy (apparently), and this vibrational energy kind of governs the subconscious make-up of your situation. The only reason your in the situations your in, is because you've some how or another created it. An example of this is when someone is trying to make you angry, you can either feed into their trap and become angry...or completely rise above them, so much so you don't even reply. It requires your energy. So look into that. Manipulating these things once you know how they work, is actually super effective. U can change anything about yourself

I just don't understand how to answer your fucken question...because nothing exists

@Serotoninluv yes! No expectations...because if I'm looking for "reality" what I'm actually looking for is my perception of reality. Because how can [I think] I know what I'm looking for unless it is an idea in my mind. And so to "seek" anything would be to seek an idea and not true reality.
