Girls interested in spirituality

14 posts in this topic

Hi!I am 23.The problem for me is that it is difficult to find girls around my age that enjoy talking with me  about philosophy, mysticism and spirituality. My love language is talking about my ideas and helping my partner to become a better person. It is frustrating when a girl just want to talk about stupid things. I also love talking about stupid things but not all the time .When I start talking about something deeper I look in her eyes and I can feel that she is thinking something else. Do you know how I could find girls that enjoy having deep conversations?(I have met some girls interested in spirituality but all of them have boyfriends)

Those are rare indeed. But do you ever feel like you're talking "at" people rather than "with" them?

Go to yoga classes and other New Age activities to find more spiritual girls.

Although I've found even strippers and prostitutes who are heavy into spirituality. So they are out there.

23 is very young though. Girls that age tend to be shallow.

Hi :) I’m 26, female and have been seriously interested in spirituality since I was 18.
I’ve often felt the same as you. (Still do sometimes!)

I have noticed that as I’ve developed myself over the years the men I attract have become more and more “my ideal” in terms of being interested in spirituality and actually embodying that. That would be my biggest tip for you. Also patience. :)

And like Leo said, I think it has a lot to do with where you hang out. Personally I met my last two boyfriends at psychedelic retreat centers.

Ecstatic dances, yoga, transformational festivals, retreats I think these can all be good places to start. Though for me I’ve found as I get deeper into this work, I see a lot of people “pretending” in places like these. Gets lonely. But I trust you’ll find the gems.

good luck!

@taslimitless what Do you mean with "pretended"? You mean people go there for social reasons rather than spiritual reasons?

No, I was referring to the make-believe spiritual mumbo jumbo and group think that people often entertain in these circles.

Tadaah. Whenever I'm with clients and start to talk spiritual stuff (I don't do it often) I get the feeling that they're looking at me like "why are you spoiling my illusion. I want to stay asleep so I can keep doing my dirty stuff". Lol. Once I told a guy that he's making out with himself when he's with me and I never saw him again. Never did that again.

It very depends on your environment. There are bunch of women who care about spirituality. In fact, women are naturally more prone to such things than men.

As a spiritual woman myself, many times I felt that men didn't understand or even didn't accept this side in me. Or seen this as unimportant, irrational or even ridiculous part in me.

I've dated someone and I remember that I talked about yoga and meditation and he was really annoyed, I felt like he wanted me to delete this part in myself so I'll fit the box in his head of what a woman should be like. Meaningless to say that I left because it made me feel annoyed that he didn't care about yoga and meditation. Only about his job and his new car that he always talked about. Later I studied the spiral dynamics model and got some aha moment when I realized that he was at stage orange and I'm at green.

Fundamentally, this has a lot to do with age and values. I’m not sure your age but if you’re in your 20s especially below 25 you will endlessly find people are engrossed in shallow petty nonsense. This has a lot to do with lack of life experience and being far too socialised in mainstream culture. Values is key too. If your values are incompatible. E.g. you value inner work, introspection and spirituality all while they value materialism, hedonism and mainstream culture there’s never going to be a deep connection.

Im now 30 and ever since dating and meeting women 28+, I’ve found they are far more emotionally mature and spiritually acquainted. I had a lovely meet last night with a 28 year old woman who I was able to share casual banter with and go deep spiritual/philosophical subjects. This is not going to happen in typical social spheres. You need to niche down and disregard those you don’t align with you from the get go.

there are so many of these girls

but just a warning - dont conflate spirituality with quality of one's character. i had an impression they were heavily correlated. knowing about non-duality, law of attraction, meditation, spiritual beliefs =/= integrity, empathy, communication skills, morality, ethics, honesty etc.

there may be some correlation or whatever but they're 100% distinct
