Should I masturbate ?

13 posts in this topic

I feel like I lose either way.

If I masturbate I get negative effects for 1 -3 days.

If I don't I can't stop thinking about sex. And I need to focus on my work.

I want to jerk off so I don't have to think about sex, but I don't want the side effects either.

I wrote a post on this exact topic.

Basically you can get pleasure without ejaculation with the meditation technique i describe. Which means that you don't get any of the negative effects of ejaculation, to the contrary, you get lots of psychological benefits.

The road to God is paved with bliss.

These topics should honestly be banned from now on, they've been talked about so much. If you use the search function you'll find plenty of threads on this. Either jack off when you get an urge, then learn to pull yourself together. Or resist it and discipline your mind to stop thinking about sex, simple. Don't go complicating it more. You must be precise in what you want, If you want an apple, ask for an apple and not a pear.

@fridjonk I want sex with a real woman (not prostitute).

I don't want to masturbate, I can go weeks without it, but now it it intruding my thoughts, hard to control.

I don't know.

& I want to be able to ignore these tingling sensations & do my work. But I don't like side effects of masturbation.

I know it's cliche, I almost deleted the thread before I sent.

I'm going to try resist it thanks & use other stimulation to distract me then focus.

If it doesn't work out I'll jerk off & try not feel any shame & not see it as negative either.

What you resist, persists.

You may be able ignore your sexual urges for a while by repressing them, but it's a counterproductive strategy in the long run. Let's try this on for size. The next time you feel the urges coming on, just go somewhere where you can be alone. Sit down, relax your whole body, take a few deep breaths. Then mindfully observe and really feel into the urges. Try to locate them in your physical body. Stay with the feelings with a few minutes and they should go away by themselves. What's really important is that you shouldn't repress and judge these feelings.

If you really can't handle the urges and they constantly disrupt your everyday life, well, you may have a problem, but even masturbation can be done mindfully. Of course, the best solution would be engaging in healthy sexual relationships with actual girls.

I wish I had that option. But I don't have the logistics & free time for that yet. Soon my time for sweet pussy will come

Hopefully I can learn some cool Matrix sex where the girls can levitate. : )

@Striving for more Try some sort of breathing meditation like Kriya or Kundalini yoga so you get the energy moving throughout your body. Just abstaining from fapping is too difficult without replacing it with some sort of energy practice.

Don't "try not to feel any shame", just notice there's nothing to feel bad about. Just tell yourself "well that was fun" after your session and move on. It's all about how you approach it.

Oh man, it's a huge problem for me. I haven't masturbated for 10 days. I can't stop thinking about sex, but I feel so much energy! It helps me to do the cold approach, I feel more confident when I speak to girls.

Bro, I suggest that you stop watching porn, it's really destroys your reward system and the whole life in general. You can do it.

@Striving for more You have cause and effect backwards. You think intrusive sexual urges cause you to watch porn (or fantasize) and masturbate. But actually, masturbating while fantasizing or with porn causes intrusive sexual thoughts.

Here's how you break the pattern: allow yourself to touch yourself, but without fantasy or porn. Stay present in the moment. Look at your dick. Enjoy the sensations. Masturbate as a meditation. Watch how you naturally won't want to ejaculate, and will just feel like you had enough after a while.

Just masturbate but don't use any pornography. Imagine the kind of girl you want to be with to motivate you for the long run while you're single. There is nothing wrong with getting that release once in a while, it's actually healthy for you. What's unhealthy is neurotically suppressing a perfectly natural desire. Practice some discipline if you need to, limit yourself to only once per week so you get the satisfaction you need and can focus on other things.

The problem is porn and how easy it is to access, and the warping effects it has on your mind.
