The World is not as bad as you think it is

47 posts in this topic

We've seen a lot of posts recently talking about how bad the world is and how those in power are out to kill us and control us. Although the world is far from perfect I would invite you to think of a better time in history that you would've preferred to be born in. Maybe you wanted to live through the world and countless other wars last century, maybe the 400 years of slavery and colonisation, maybe the feudal system mightve been fun or living under a monarchy, think your health are would've been good then? I can go on.

Of course depends what you want to call better, but I would class things as highest ever life expectancy, highest ever iq, lowest infant mortality, access to unlimited information for everyone, opportunities to make money online, welfare systems, health care, least likely to die in a violent way. (yes all this things can and hopefully will be improved more)

You get the idea, but the trajectory has always gone in a positive way. What I think the real conspiracy is, is that you believe that it's not good, we believe that it's evil, however that has happened, through movies, politicians whatever, a lot of people think this is a terrible time, it's simply not true in comparison to other times.

What's noticable is that those pushing a fearful rhetoric are those trying to get into power. Marketing companies that try and tell you, you're not good as you are, have to make you think that otherwise you won't buy their products. You ultimately make your reality and I see so many not just on here, holding on to fear, all I'm saying let go, the world will keep improving dispite you fear, never because of it, your fear only holds up yourself.

@Consept That’s it. There is no such thing as a bad or good world. It is simply whether the context in which an organism exists is having its survival benefited or impinged upon.

Good and bad are dualistic limitations applied to reality. It’s a wonder the terms are even used considering how much suffering they both imply.

Reality is the most unspeakable, incomprehensible magic one could ever experience ?

Yep. One thing that I like about the modern world is that we have come far in terms of control of abuse. Abuse of any kind was much more prevalent before 1960s. But with the help of activists and awareness and new laws, abuse has been hugely controlled and illegitimatized.

INFJ-T,ptsd,BPD, autism, anger issues

Cleared out ignore list today.

On the contrary, it sure is exactly as bad as we “think” it is!

Yeah sure “let go” and ignore the fear in the back of your mind telling you something's not right.

Sure we can distract ourselves by focusing on the positives, but let’s not kid ourselves, when the shit stinks, it’s time to start asking questions.

(Giving you a hard time, I get what you’re saying, sometimes much is out of our control and we are forced to let go of what doesn’t serve, and focus on what best serves us now)

“Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t face what is real”

@DrewNows Good and bad are relative, not absolute. It depends on one’s survival needs, where one exists and what they are made of. One can respond appropriately to protect the survival of themselves and others. But understand, that this is a bias with no objective truth to it.

@Jacobsrw keep preaching to the choir, as long as you like what you see ;)

Catch you down stream perhaps, when you’re no longer fighting for air

@DrewNows I think you misunderstand the significance of what’s been said. I cannot inform you otherwise. Suffering = good/bad dualism, enjoy.

@Jacobsrw The significance makes sense in a mirror, but I’m just trying to debate for the sake of survival, ya dig?

@DrewNows it's not a case of distracting yourself with fake positivity, it's looking at the enteriety of the picture. Fear and paranoia is in all of us for survival, just because it focuses on potential dangers in the world it doesn't mean that is the world.

If you were born a king 500 years ago you couldn't even fathom the life of the average person now. As much as you want to hold on to whatever you want to hold on to you can't deny progress has been made. It hasn't been made through fear and paranoia it's been made through people that are able to see through it, those who were fearful have started wars and have generally slowed down our evolution because their view is narrow.

But of course you maybe unconscious of this dynamic at play and think that everyone who doesn't see what you see is blind, but maybe they do see it they just see more of the picture

@DrewNows Well I think you demonstrated my point. Question is, what level of quality is your shovel?

@Consept oh yeah, sounds like you’re talking about “conspiracy theorists” obsessed with exposing the bad/evil “assuming” most don’t see it or wish to question the narrative that makes them feel safe for whatever potential gains

don’t mind me I’m just road tripping through DC, Boston, New York (east coast) seeing new places and enjoying nature

@Jacobsrw you’ve already proven to me you aren’t yet willing to go deep into these topics or you’d see another reality in which the media’s narrative sounds more like the “conspiracy” ?

but anyhow, it’s your right not to choose to question the hand that feeds you but rather disprove the questioners lol ?

@DrewNows if you take a step back from your perspective you'd see you're actually arguing that fear and paranoia is the right or realistic place to be at. You're also suggesting that those not in that place are wrong and you either want them to be there or feel sorry for them that they're not. There's also the assumption that maybe I'm not aware of the 'evil' side as you call it, or I haven't researched anything. Fear and paranoia only exist within the mind.

But anyway its your journey and I don't want to be hard on you, this is the experience you need to have so embrace it fully if that's what you feel.

@DrewNows Your very comment clearly reflects your lack attention to what I have previously stated. I question socialistic and governmental influences endlessly, especially those of current times. Why do you think I take part on this forum? You assume one must agree with these theories in order to question their environment. Ignoring that questioning is infinite and can be done in endless ways.

I am not convinced by the rigour of these conspiracy theories in which you seem to ascribe. In fact, just your very comment demonstrates your leniency to theories rather than questioning every aspect of your reality beyond them.

A theory does not explain the entire mechanics of a situation. It does at best try to explain what is happening according to a given context. Judging by the “conspiracy” theories I have come across of recent, they are far from doing this to any comprehensive degree, any more than that of a fundamentalist dogma.

My questioning of what is going on extends beyond these mere theories that you have stipulated or indicated. Please return when you are ready to question beyond the parameters of them.

As @Consept has pointed out, you seem to me more close minded than those you are critiquing.

There has definitely never been a better time to be alive than now, but it's not going to last.

Our current systems and standards of living have stretched the planet to the brink.

Soon we're going to have to voluntarily sacrifice and simply our material existence.

The alternative is an impending recoil, and yes it's going to be violent.

Not only is it not bad, it's Absolutely Good!

Just clean your doors of perception.

An impure mind sees impurity wherever it looks, like a cracked telescope will show a crack on the surface of the moon.

If everywhere you look you don't like what you see, maybe the problem is you. ;)

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Please educate these people ?

Consciousness to some here seems to be more of a perceived threat than I knife.

@Consept actually people can be wherever they want to be, my perspective is available to add value, important information to consider, but you’re right in that you haven’t researched, so what gives you the right to assume those who have, are actually trapped in a pessimistic perspective? I’m not suggesting anything other than admitting you’re uninformed and need to do actual unbiased research before “trying” to debunk the shit that doesn’t match your world view. Nearly everything labeled conspiracy has been in my radar for over a year

@Jacobsrw I’m sorry but aren’t you the one who’s been judging the various theories and perspectives rather than seeking to understand what truth they hold? Have you done your research or are you only interested in surface level social/mental games? Aka speculations

@DrewNows correct, I have. Clearly you have not. If you had, you would also question these theories you hold allegiance to, as they are extremely limited and largely unsubstantiated in their perspective. These problems are beyond just a “cult” theory. Is there some accuracy to the ideas in these theories, yes some. But holistically, it’s much more complex than that. But if it helps you sleep at night to caress the ego with simplistic comforting theoretical concepts don’t let me stop you :)

@Leo Gura if you would only question the smell of your own shit sometimes, perhaps you’d not be so bash-full of all these new “conspiracy” views popping up in your forum ;)

perhaps apply open mindedness to all info appearing and reappearing in the pandemic, And not just the keepers for your (almighty ?) worldview

@Jacobsrw I don’t give two shits about the theories because I’ve done my research and only care about the facts. I’ve considered them long before you even knew they existed, so don’t pretend you can know the facts supporting the theories without researching (vaccines, health, disease viruses, and connecting the dots on agendas)
