I’m in Bangcock!!

10 posts in this topic

Hey, I’ll be in Bangcock tomorrow for only one day. I was wondering if you could recommend any cool places/temples to meditate and/or maybe meet monks/non dualists. Hopefully relatively close to Koh San road ( if not, journeys are cool too ?).

Thanks!, a fellow expression

Not exactly the place I would choose for serene meditation...

My favourite place is the Jim Thompson house (excellent cafe / restaurant too), which you can get too with a river bus if you ask around. You have to pay an entry fee though.

Other than that there are the obvious tourist sites, but none of them are particularly serene. I do like Ayutthaya as a day trip, but it's quite a distance from BKK, so not sure if you'll have time. To be honest, the nightlife is the main reason most Western males go there, otherwise there's not much to it.

@Deadline This is no joke......

"Bangkok and Hong Kong are most at-risk from the spread of coronavirus based on air travellers expected to arrive from affected cities in China, population mapping experts at the University of Southampton concluded."

Be careful!

The Koh Sanh Road is instructive for the spiritual seeker; it is a parody of itself, by being itself.

Watch your wallet, and take care.

Not much happening in Bangkok.

You're better off going to a small hippy island.
