How would a enlightened society deal with crime and punishment?

9 posts in this topic

If a society was mostly Yellow/Turquoise, how would they most likely deal with crime and punishment? Killing other people would be just God experiencing the killing and the being killed. So it would seem pointless to lock up 'yourself'. Could society get to the point of not even caring about things like theft, murder, embezzlement and so on, as they would be just viewed by that society as all part of the dream, and therefore has no meaning?

@Jed Vassallo that will be the distant future.  A society of mystics (turquoise).  Hundreds of years from now "evil" won't exist, as it is a dualty.   And the duality of a dream vs not a dream will collapse as well.

But towards that end mercy will be shown to the unconscious.  They would still have to be jailed until it became total.

punishment will be like making people involved in crime to consume psychedelics.

@Harikrishnan great idea!   But not so sure it could work for all depending on consciousness levels.

Understanding and support instead of blame and shame, rehabilitation facilities instead of cages. Our prisons are still very Stage Blue, put the ”bad” people away so we dont have to actually deal with the problem.

@Jed Vassallo I heard about some African tribes (probably turquoise) using a method like this: when someone committed a crime or did something terrible, the whole tribe would gather around that person and would spend a day remembering and telling him all the good thing he has done in the past. This way, they would heal the person.

I thought that was interesting...

When good and bad are transcended, there are no need for "punishments". We don't need to punish people for anything.

Prisons will be MUCH more humane, sentences shorter and people will not be sentenced for stupid shit like smoking weed.

Also, most people in prisons are propably at stage red. The best way to help them and society would be to get them to stage blue. This is basically what church has tried to do with their bibles and prison chaplains.

The idea that we put criminal people in a cage and wait them to change by without help is ridiculous. They will be back in no time.
