the answer to that comes during an enlightenment experience.

I don't know but don't assume that there is reason. As a general tip: Find and question all of your assumtions.

The road to God is paved with bliss.

I also believe that I am not consciousness.

Who is aware of the thought that has that belief?

Awareness yes.

@theking00 Maybe it does maybe it doesn't. Nobody knows.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

Consciousness is like an infinite field. Within this infinite field various forms arise. The brain is one of those forms. The forms arise and pass away but the field is never created or destroyed.

Think of a video game. The player character's brain does not create the video game simulation. It is part of the simulation.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

The brain and a concept of a brain arise *within* consciousness. That's why current scientists won't discover it. They make the reverse assumption (that consciousness arises within the brain).

You cant have consciousness without a brain. You cant have a brain without consciousness. The latter makes more sense to me.

Not in the traditional word of 'create', it emerges alongside with brain processes and the relationship between consciousness and the brain is circular. It's not casually created by the brain.

Linear: brain -> consciousness

Circular: brain -O- consciousness

Indeed, you could say they arose mutually dependent upon eachother.

The brain creates consciousness and through this consciousness we perceive a brain.

Great talk by Dr. Carhart-Harris. Introduction at 38:00 and starts shortly after.
