Curing acne through awareness?

14 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

I’ve been dealing with acne for several years and it just crossed my mind: maybe I’m creating it  like Leo was creating his leaky gut in his body awareness video? Maybe relaxing my face more?

I’ve been to dermatologists, i’ve had antibiotics, creams and shit.

I also tried quitting milk and gluten for a couple of months and that helped a little but didn’t get rid of it.

I’m kind of desperate and I’m trying to find a more natural and holistic way to treat it/solve it.

Has anyone found something that had worked for them or is councious about things that I should be conscious of that could help me?

Thanks.

Have you tried tea tree oil or Apple Cider Vinegar? My friend used that stuff and her acne cleared up nicely. Cold water helps too imo. Oily foods can be a culprit too.

@Eyal Bor did you try aha and bha peelings? or something like jetpeel yet?

i doubt that relaxing the face would help.

but maybe it’s linked to gut bacteria, did you ever research into probiotics? how was it after the antibiotics? did it return stronger or the same?

Your body probably needs a systemic detoxification. Think lymphatic system + kidneys , gall bladder + liver, lungs and colon. Your main elimination pathways. Topical creams and oils won't do shit in long term as acne is NOT a skin disease it is body getting rid of toxins through skin because other elimination systems are not working properly. However there might also be an emotional component so I'd say continuing your spiritual practice will dfinitely not make it worse

Consider finding a Naturopath in your area, ask him to do an Iridology examination for you to identify organ weaknesses and blocked elimination pathways and work on those with detox program and some herbs, you will definitely benefit if they know what they are doing.

Things you can already start doing and that are safe.

  • Saunas (unless you are asthmatic) helps with detoxification through skin and opens pores.
  • dry skin brushing (moves lymph)
  • hot-cold showers - promote circulation
  • Cardio exercise to help your body sweat and move the lymphatic system.
  • fasting for 24 hours once a week

Make sure to be aware of Herring's law of cure (look this up online) which means that basically before things get better they will get worse and that detox always starts from heads towards bottom, from latest symptoms to the oldest and from inside out.

Please DO NOT start any mayor detoxification protocol (excluding those mentioned above) before first consulting a specialist as you may do yourself more harm than good.

@Vintus Vinegar is irritating for my skin, but I like the tea tree oil. Gonna try washing my face with cold water instead. Always thought warm was good though since it opens pores and clogs out sebum.

@Michael569 Thanks! This is good info. I read and I was planning to do a 3 day Apple detox. Only consuming skinless apples and water for 3 days, to get rid of toxins. You think is safe?

I mean people in history wouldn’t eat for weeks and they would be ok afterwards so I don’t know why would there be a problem for 3 days with only apples. But i’ve never done something like this so I don’t know. But generally I feel in good health, I mean i eat pretty healthy. I should consult a  naturopath? Nutritionist?

What’s the longest you’ve fast and how was the experience for you?

I’m gonna look into the Iridology thing.

In my experience, acne is 100% dependent on sleep quality and quantity.

@Eyal Bor ofcourse there is no need to pay anyone and there is no guarantee that a detox will help you but if it was me that would be the first thing I'd try :) on the other hand you may perhaps want to wait for spring or summer to do that as generally in winter (depends where you live) we tend to eat more hot, cooked (yang) foods to balance the yin of the cold weather.

Never tried apple detox but maybe someone online has. Seems like a fine idea to do a monofruit fast for couple days, that alone might help :) I know people have benefited from grapejuice fast but again, that is prob better left for spring and summer. My longest was only 48 hours, never tried one of the super long ones, I know some people on this forum have.

You may try looking up one of Dr Morse's videos on acne, he probably has it mentioned in several of them. He is the god of healing and detoxification in my opinion and if I was ever diagnosed with something or had some skin issues, I'd probably go down their route.

@Eyal Bor acne can also be a problem of sugar metabolism. if you want to try fasting, why not do a raw week or two or even three. eating more vegetables than fruits - if it’s sugar metabolism you have to take care of the glycemic index.

(and why removing the skin from the apple before eating?)

@Eyal Bor I've been through this.

In my experience there are a number of factors at play here. The two key parts to look at are:

  1. Diet & Health
  2. Emotional & Psychosomatic (Awareness)

Diet & Health

You will need personal results to determine what most effectively works for you.

I would start by eliminating wheat, dairy, all sugar (incl. Fruits, honey, refined, etc). for a minimum of 1 month. This will be difficult and you may need to build up to this gradually.

Health wise, get Vitamin D3, C, and Zinc regularly. I recommend D3 from sun if possible. 20min - 1hr per day depending on region.

Get sleep of 7 hours per day.

Drink enough water to feel good.

Now this will get you started on healing any physical issues that are caused by inflammation, sugar, intolerances, and overall poor health.

Emotional & Awareness

The health aspect is easy to deal with. It's the emotional and mental parts that are far sneakier.

The hardest, seemingly least useful, yet really most important advice is to sit with the acne. Surrender and accept it.

Now I know how difficult this is, it literally took me years to come to terms with this. And even now the odd pimple can sometimes cause an emotional reaction in me. But the key was for me to frame it differently in my mind.

Remove limiting beliefs if you have them... Like you can't get a relationship, you're ugly, etc. since these actually aren't true at all.

Now the fun part! Use the acne as a tool for emotional growth rather than running from it and trying to cure it. Unless you actually have shit health, then you need to fix that.

But for the most part, I suggest you sit behind a mirror and let whatever comes up, just come up! Feel the deep emotions bubble to the surface.

What if I told you that it's not the acne, but you're reaction to it that makes you feel bad. What if I said that you will almost certainly grow out of it and the emotionally difficult thing to do (for growth) is to just let it be for a year or two. Just accept it and love yourself because of the acne.

Think about all the ways it's helped you grow stronger, become less shallow, explore health and personal development.

Let it sit in your awareness, if you feel like shit from this. Don't fight that! Feel like shit fully...

The most amazing thing is not letting it affect you emotionally, it can cause all sorts of emotional baggage down the track.

Funnily enough, when you accept. It may begin to disappear, but you won't care anyway because you've accepted it. I would work on this emotional aspect in tandem with the physical elimination of sugar, improved sleep, water etc.

When the acne heals, your emotions will transmute to feeling ugliness and scarring in your mouth or eyes or hair instead of your skin. Heal the root psycho-emotional problems and beign the process of solving the real deep issue for your entire life.

@Eyal Bor  Cutting any oil's and processed soya from my diet eliminated the issue by 90%. And I suffered badly.

The detoxing theory I am skeptical of.

@Bluebird Thanks a lot, this is really helpful, it's what I needed.

Do you feel where do these emotions get stored in your body? Gut, chest, throat? So I can try to relax the emotions that I dont want to accept.

In my experience stopping acne is almost exclusively about diet.

Cleaning up your diet is super important.

Certain types of foods cause lots of acne, especially processed foods, fast food, and really any food that you don't cook yourself.

I eliminated 99% of my acne when I stopped eating all food expect food I made myself.

I think a lot of the cheap oils & fats restaurants use cause lots of acne.

Also stuff like whey protein causes lots of acne.

Every body is different so you should experiment with an elimination diet to isolate which foods for you are the culprit.

Heavily processed foods, snacks, fast food, and junk food tend to be worst culprits.

I've found that if a food causes acne, it will cause it right within a few hours of eating it. So you need to closely watch when new acne appears and remember what you ate that day and never eat it again.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I mainly get acne from caffeine, it releases stress hormones in the body and worsens the skin. Get rid of it!
