My thought is that you are in far too big a hurry. If you want to see any gains at all, you have to give up rushing things. Just start slowly with breath focused meditation or another simple technique, and stay with it for a couple months. If you do that, you will see some gains, but don't anticipate it so much or you will end up quitting before you see anything good.

Meditation won't get you enlightened, of that is your purpose with it.

I'll tell you that upfront!

Right, you just have to realize it, you're already it

How much strong determination sitting? Between 1.5-3 hours daily? Around a month I think for very noticable results.

Below 1 hour a day? Then I think there will be no results for a long time. But I am no specialist in strong determination so take my words with a grain of salt.

WHEN DOES MEDITATION START WORKING?

Right away.  The best thing I ever did was start meditating about 2 or 3 ago years now.  Meditation is the best daily habit for Enlightenment and Personal Development in general.  The big four are meditation, diet, sleep, and exercise.  Once I started meditating, right away I realized this is something I'm gonna do for the rest of my life.  Meditation makes you feel good and also lets you to do keen self-observation.  So it kills two birds with one stone.  It's like exercise in that sense, right -- exercise builds strength but also gives you an increased feeling of well-being post-workout as well.

Honestly for me, after almost year a dedicated meditation I started having some really interesting experiences with it, finally starting to see what nonduals teaching r pointing to, but nothing too grand like an enlightenment experience.

the long term effects r definitely there, that is you becoming a completely different person, seeing things in new mature perspectives, and so much more

This is misleading and incorrect

@Mezanti  meditation is practicing letting go in the micro laboratory of the body. Simple as that. It is the opposite of “gain”. It is a car that you burn after driving to a destination that you realise you will never reach. It’s a Trojan horse sans Achaeans

@Ingit From one perspective, awreness comes prior to interpretation. I needed to let go of my attachments and indentification to my interpretations to awaken and become aware that they are interpretations.

It’s been a never-ending process for me. It keeps going deeper and deeper. I feel like I’m on level 62 and I have no idea how many levels there are.

@Serotoninluv I seem stuck... I dont know what to go deep about... i get confused with my own set of false beliefs... do you need to sah anything about it...! As i start to ask myself about them my mind eventually will make other meanings about the things which I ask my mind to understand myself.

@Ingit  you need to pick a practice and stick with it. I’m not surprised that you are confused. There are many ways to do this but you need to pick one and stick with it for a while

I only have a sliver of truth for you. And that is: all those beliefs are just ideas. Step outside the beliefs and observe them. You are more than beliefs.

@Pernani interesting, i'm wondering if there is a way to speed up that process, do you think if you had meditated more, your results would have increased as well, or that maybe it's nothing to do with how long you meditate but simply that you do?
