At the moment I have the feeling it's to complicated for me. Nearly every session I was doubting if I was doing the Kriyas right. Also I'm not that flexible so some postures feel odd when I do them. I did it for like 2 months and don't feel any results (but who knows?).

So I went back to "regular" meditation with the help of "the mind illuminated" and the step by step program. Feels more appropriate.

  • Awareness of the shakti/chi/energies moving through me.
  • Deep states of meditation after the session.
  • Overall good mindfullnesd states throughout the day.

To those who are not sure if they should invest their time into Kriya, I recommend trying this:

It's a simple and quick 45/90 day routine, very similar in nature to what you would learn in the books.

Give it a shot and if you like it, get the books and dive deep!

I feel my spine a lot more and sometimes I can actually feel energy moving up my spine and putting pressure on my third eye area. I feel better in my body in general after doing it for 4ish months now.

I haven’t had any samadhi states yet but sometimes when I really put effort into the practice and it goes well I feel a deep sense of peace afterward and a slight dissolution of my boundaries.

I think the biggest thing I’ve gained from doing it is that it’s really opened up my curiousity about yoga and now I want to study it a lot more and practice.

It's great. I'm still basically a beginner, but I feel the benefits after every session, as well as overall benefits throughout the day that might or might not be directly related to the yoga practice, still hard to say, but I've definitely noticed changes in my overall awareness since I started.

These benefits include:

  • peace and calmness (both in the body and mind) after a session
  • awareness boost after a session. You can take advantage of this to do self-inquiry right after a session.
  • more overall awareness of the illusory nature of thoughts
  • less reactiveness
  • better sensory perception
  • more willpower

But keep in mind the long-term benefits of years of practice are said to be way beyond just this.

Check out the books in Leo's list and the mega-thread. Make sure to read the latest books he added to the list and not just the first one he talks about in the video, they also include more streamlined routines with simpler (yet still effective) techniques that will save you a lot of time.

Do you do the exercises as specified in the book, or have you evolved to where you're doing your own subset of the routines?

Well, my experience hasn't been too positive.

  • I now find it hard to sit for long periods of meditation whereas I did not before.
  • Spiritual Sickness, doubts that enlightenment is real
  • Attatchment to dogma , wanting the seeking to stop. Considering joining a religion.
  • Thoughts about death, lots of suicidal thoughts
  • Over emotional reactions
  • Deep compassion for everyone else - sadness for their unfortunate situation
  • Sleepless nights
  • Paranoia - think you see things like ghosts and demons
  • Nilhism
  • Lazing around feeling lathargic
  • Aversion to routine
  • Low appetite
  • Seeing life in persepective

But this is all part of the process.

Dont let you put this off. :)

I am joking, but I have had something like that for a month.

Back then I had started practicing Kriya daily and was spending most of my time in the nature, without any worries.

The experience was like microdosing, but without ingesting any substance. More intense during the practice and then fading off over hours.
