And the information caught me off guard that when the dominant male Parrotfish of the group disappears, the biggest female switches to a male so the ecosystem can continue?! 

Maybe some of you guys already know this but this is mind bending to me, I didn’t know such thing could happen.

Can we use something like this to argue that changing gender is natural? Religion likes to site natural law a lot to argue against things like masturbation and homosexuality, both of which animals also do because it is perfectly natural. There are also animals which are both male and female.

Parrotfish should not be fished, they are the natural predators of a starfish called crown of Thorns.

Crown of thorns eat life Coral. Without their natural predator they grow out of control.

In the Coral Triangle it's not uncommon for entire areas of Coral to be eaten away by Crown of thorns. Completely destroying the ecosystem.

When we as diving professionals see an outburst of crown of thorns, we start a removal operation. There is a special method for this, you can't pick them up for removal, when you pick them up they will panic and release thousands of eggs, making the problem worse over time. We inject them with vinegar or sodium bisulfate so they die out from the inside.

Coral Ecosystems are really delicate, mess with them and they go out of whack.
