Down time

6 posts in this topic

Ok so I have a pretty busy schedule now.

- work

- filming + video editing for my socials

- daily public speaking challenge

- Qi Gong

- studying Russian language

- family stuff + errands

- planning, journaling and reflecting on life

The one issue I’m running into a bit is that I realized this is basically my maximum. I sort of don’t have any more energy for anything else. So I’m looking for ways to spend my down time in a way that is rejuvenating and helpful and not just doomscrolling or wasting time on YouTube. I’d say the way I spend my down time now is…

- posting here

- reading (this one requires more mental focus and energy to do since a lot of the books I read require the attention to fully understand everything, I’d really like to have more energy to read longer since I only get about a solid focused 20-30 minutes in a day)

What are some healthy ways you guys spend your down time when you are fatigued and don’t have a sharp mind or focus to do other things? I’m trying to increase my energy but tbh I eat pretty healthy and get decent sleep and take vitamins and supplements, it’s a matter I think now of sorts exercising and building my mental stamina.

I’m playing video games but it’s harder to go to sleep right afterwards

Very inspiring routine. Daily public speaking challenge, learning a language very impressive stuff.

Sounds like you need to work out more specifically cardio and weights. Working out is perhaps the single greatest thing you can do for your health, and it will give you more energy too, and help you sleep better. Try creatine too as if gives you tons of energy.

I take a walk with music or no (depending on mood). No drive, push or force. Slow meandering in the woods, by the river.

I let my mind wonder off and let my eyes focus on distant objects and horizons.

No podcasts. Just air, water, trees and sound. Slow moving.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

I'm so curious about so many things, I'm always learning something. But recently I'm allowing myself to learn and drop stuff on whim doing it whenever I feel like it.

I picked up this flute called shakuhachi which is supposed to be this zen flute but i never invested the time to fully learn it..

I'm learning new skills for the YT video as well like story telling, editing, etc which is also taking up most of the time.

How are you guys working after 9-5 job? I feel so tired by the time I reach home, it's insane.
