Because it's a disgrace to a society if its population is concerned with lust rather than creating a healthy family and becoming a mother and a father raising the future (children).

I think that's the best purpose of human life after spirituality and realising one's self, which is BTW in the same direction that is in line with creating a healthy society.

Porn is just lust there is nothing educational about it.

If it educates you about something it is educating you about lust nothing more.

Therefore creating a lustful society as we're watching today.

Got it so you favor authoritarianism to push your personal agenda on society as a large.

I think that's an atrocious viewpoint and if you don't want to watch hardcore porn you should build up the willpower to stop washing it instead of wanting the government to handhold you.

Choking? Not that I care, but girls like choking.

The rationale is that kids are aping porn and sending their girlfriends to the ER. They want to reduce choking related injury.

I don't know where you got that analysis from.

I'm not gonna trust it.

Even if it is true it could also be the result of porn that people don't have real relationships anymore.

It’s literally a 5 second google to get this information, but here’s one of the thousands of articles covering it for your ease

Both single and married people are having less sex. Could porn have influenced this? Yea, potentially. But that’s a separate argument. Your point of “porn causes promiscuity” has little to no evidence backing it, in fact most of the evidence points to the contrary

I know I shouldn't have brought it up because I'm not practicing what I preach.

But do not think creating it and spreading it for everyone to watch is not an authoritarian act and do not think it's not a personal agenda that's being pushed to society either.

Porn is deliberately being pushed to society by some people with some personal agenda.

Ironically it’s kind of kinky. Orgasm denial from the government :D

We’ll call this regime The Directorate for Algorithmic Detection of Deviant Yankers, or D.A.D.D.Y for short.

No that proves my point even further.

It only shows that it sabotages real relationships too let alone the casual promiscuous ones.

Goalposts just got wayyyyyy wider.

Let’s bring them back to the original point you made which was “porn increases promiscuity”

If you concede that there is no evidence for this, we can discuss this next point.

There is no need for that.

All the evidence is right in front of your eyes if you just open your eyes to see them.

Why would you need another source to tell you that people are having casual sex way too much?

It's right in front of your eyes just see for yourself.

Again, this is a separate point. I do not see the issue with casual sex, so provide an actual argument first why casual sex is bad instead of “it just is, look bro” and  we can talk about this next.

But let’s conclude the initial argument first: do you stand by your statement that porn causes promiscuity?

Yes I stand by that point.

If you agree porn is full of lust which it is then you can also agree that watching it and masturbating to it is also practicing lust.

What's the result of lust?

Promiscuity.

And casual sex is bad because it desensitises you and your conscience.

So how come as porn use has skyrocketed, promiscuity has gone down?

”desensitises you and your conscience” is very vague, please explain what you mean in more detail and perhaps with some examples

Before internet porn we still had peeping Toms. This kind of behavior is typical in early sex offenders because they rationalize that so long as they are not noticed, it isn't harmful. If you are afraid of people looking at naked ladies on the internet and therefore ban it, we will need a plan to deal with early sex offenders finding other ways to look at naked ladies such as by hacking cameras, sneaking them into your home, drilling holes in the walls, or entering the wrong bathroom.

If somebody wants to look at naked ladies, but there is no porn, then we need to keep in mind that this sort of thing was a problem before the internet and we should account for it. This is how the most evil, corrupt, devil would exploit this kind of system if we did this. They might even take pictures and make porn that way, creating an entire black market for peeping creeps.

@Atb210201 @something_else

In my experience, porn didn't cause promiscuity, but rather made it even less likely. The reason is that it substituted for intimacy which I felt afraid of. It became an alternative outlet when healthy relationships were not easily accessible.

Meanwhile, now that I stopped using porn and I disabled it, I feel more drawn to intimacy instead. I feel even more horny because now I'm using my imagination to come up with something hot instead. It makes me want to have sex even more because it is probably better than porn anyway. I just need to find a way to manage my life situation first and finish this transition. A girlfriend would be nice, but I'm in a tough spot right now.

Porn is easier to access, but it points people away from actually having sex if they remain in fantasy.

There are some complications with the types of fantasies that get reinforced though such as sadistic or pedophilic fantasies especially. Those are common in early offenders as well.

I still don't believe for a second that promiscuity has gone down.

Even in the article you've sent it said people are having less sex because they're not in lasting relationships anymore.

Which means they're either single or more on casual relationships so there is some incogrinuity there in that article saying people are having less sex and at the same time they're not in lasting relationships unless it is saying they've become just single jerk offers to porn and not having sex anymore or they've become monks not caring about it anymore lol idk.

On that other point let's think of all the cheating or cuckold fantasies people are having all because of porn; Do you think it is not obvious?

That's what I mean by desensitisation of your conscience.

I'm glad to hear you've managed to overcome it.

You could see it from that perspective too I won't deny that but I still do think it creates more promiscuity.

You see the opposite of promiscuity is chastity and I do think before porn there were more Chaste people than now.

https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/582784

“The study, published in the journal Socius, found that between 2007 and 2017, the percentage of 18-to 23-year-old men who had casual sex in the past month dropped from 38 percent to 24 percent. The percentage dropped from 31 percent to 22 percent for young women of the same age.”

Casual sex and relationships have both significantly declined since the 90s and early 2000s.

You’ve changed the argument again. In your previous post you said casual sex is bad because it desensitises your conscience, now you’re expanding on that by saying… porn desensitises your conscience? On that point I can agree, certain porn likely does. But your original point was that casual sex desensitises conscience, not porn. These are two separate arguments.

Honestly, I’m getting tired of discussing this with you because your arguments and points are severely lacking in consistency and detail.

They both do I am saying the same thing again and again nothing changed in my argument.

Maybe it's because of my poor English to get my point acrossed.

Porn you can agree on casual sex also desensitises your conscience because it becomes your habit your norm and you become desensetised with values like loyalty, love etc..

You think you can practice casual sex and end up in a lasting dignified and loving relationship from that? Come on.

Porn and casual sex both desensitise your conscience in my argument, did I say anything different ever?

You said bring some examples and I did the argument is the same as it was.

No worries if you're tired let's wrap it up.

@Atb210201

Thanks for your perspective.
Are you coming from a religious background?
Can you see how denying your desires doesn’t work?
Did you ever ask yourself why you failed quitting addictions?
