after all he can't do much in this world cause of his mental disabilities. Is he cursed not to do anything of value in this world?

If a clinically low iq person exists, but they have high emotional intelligence or discipline, they can get more done than a higher iq person with crippling anxiety and inconsistency. There isn't in the world some kind of magical scoreboard of what is of value and what isn't, SPECIALLY in capitalism. Morally, we might make those distinctions but it's highly contextual. Capitalism doesn't give a shit about that.

I've seen people on YouTube that told their stories and I believe by what they said they have some mental disability by being slow to learn, but somehow they still had verbal fluency and world knowledge.

How? Problem solving skills are likely not completely tied to all regions of the brain. We know very well for example, social intelligence can be the opposite to traditional problem solving like for autistic people, they can focus at something very niche and specific and drop social bullshit that gets in the way.

The issue is being completely shitty at everything. IQ is just what traditionally an IQ test measures, it's not all areas of the brain or life decisions, personal environment, inclinations, etc.

Look at someone like Chris Langan, that guy very likely has some of the highest IQs in the world, yet he's sort of this fundamentalist Christian and didn't know how to navigate university bureaucracy and had to quit because he came from a super poor rural area american family.

Life purpose is about feeding your muse. IQ might only limit what your good at, which is assuming your actually have low IQ and your not just putting yourself down due low self-esteem.

If you have that spark of ambition, why not just see what you can do with it? You can always just get a job.

He can still do work and provide value, it will just be simpler work, less intellectual work.

He could work with animals, for example. Let's say he loves animals and works at the zoo.

Is it gonna be world-changing work? No. But he can still be happy.

Anything that you do that is not a procrastination, chasing of addictions, or self-aggrandizement is good.

To truly love something is to grant that thing freedom. It is to hold it in an open palm of your hand without clenching over it.

I mean if he wants to become and academic or something strictly intellectual I could see how it would be a constant uphill battle but there are other options which are more physical in nature like dancing and sports for example.

Not everyone needs to live with main character energy or strong sense of purpose.

For other people a sense of purpose is as important as oxygen.

But you'll know it without anyone needing to tell you.

You'll know.

I think as we grow up we have the tendency to look for more grand, complex or higher-status things. Children obviously have less intelligence than adults, yet they can have their own happiness doing things that are meaningful for them.

I'm sure a child building things on Minecraft, or building sand castles has more fulfillment and happiness than a child scrolling on Tiktok all day.

Did you see what most minecraft/let's play videos children tend to watch? It's roleplays and stories. But they are just spectators, they are not so much roleplaying among each other.

I think this might be a key to adult happiness as well, to not feeling like just an spectator.

I think someone can do simple minded things that are still fulfilling.
