But the mechanism is the same. The cheapening of civilians lives in muslim states and the willingness to accept dozens of killed civilians for one terroroist. The undelrying thinking is not unique to Israel. We have seen it in other Western militaries as well. And Gaza is far more densely populated precisely because of the population difference you mentioned.

Because their actions in Venice portrayed an entire country in a one-dimentional and unrealistic way and therefore it wasn't fair criticism and many Israelis are right to be outraged by that.

That is false, Israel’s regulations were already lower than the US and they loosened them further, knowing Gaza had higher civilian density to allow for more civilians to be harmed

You're downplaying just how sadistic and satanic Israel's behavior is.

Were people put in prisons, tortured to death, raped?

It's not just the killing, but the sadistic way in which they play with their victims. Shooting boys in the testicles, unloading a full magazine into one body when the person is already dead, etc. It's the torture, the humiliation, the gaslighting, the desecration of everything that is precious. They are DEMONS.

The issue is that both the individual soldier and the commanding officer are on board with it

It creates a very bad combination

You always have psychopaths in wars, but usually a professional army will make sure such behaviour is both punished and frowned upon

In Israel the general consensus is that "these people deserve it"

Which is the whole problem

When you say "kids deserve to die  because they will grow up to be terrorists" you have totally lost the plot.

Until this mindset changes, IDF will remain the most hated army in the world.

I am not saying every IDF soldier is like that

However, so many are, that it creates enough brutality in the ground to make people enraged.

Even 20% of IDF behaving like sadistic psychopaths are more than enough.

In the case of snipers I believe it was maybe 15 people doing it and it created such a bad image of IDF

In a professional army, such behaviour would be easily identified and punished or at least the soldier removed asap.

In Israel, the upper commanders simply do not care.

I saw also examples of commanders basically pushing soldiers to use Palestinians as human shields when going inside buildings for bobby traps

So in some cases it is even encouraged.
