Being completely honest . How much time to invest into epistemology at 23

10 posts in this topic

My foundation for epistemology and truth seeking is not very high at all . I am 23 , I don't want to be screwed in life . I would rather develop and give time to actually desiring truth and developing my epistemology day by day as is said .

So , honestly how much time do I need to invest starting from now , 4 hours a day ? Is 1 one hour a day okay . I'm guessing the more the better .. and that I have a fuck ton of catching up to do to since I am at the point of foundation years for my life , as has been described .

Hard to say. Is your survival taken care of? Can you afford 4 hours a day of pursuing epistemology? Even 30 minutes daily is better than none. Consistency is key.

But it is really difficult to say something smart, as we do not know your situation.

Also, there is no "catching up". Your way has been only trodden by you. You are not behind or ahead, it's an illusion. So if this pursuit is something that is valuable to you, just start, and don't worry about being "behind".

Most people don't even know what an epistemology is and are doing just fine.

Just reading/watching plenty of self-help and Actualized should get you ahead. Anything beyound that is for mastery.

@felixk_priv I just take small moments out of my day to contemplate, I made a habit out of it, and entertaining trains of thought.

But what you are asking in this thread is very abstract. What do you mean by truth-seeking and epistemology and being "screwed in life" ?

One hour per day is more than enough at your age. Just stay consistent and cut out bad habits that are harming you. I think it's wise at your age to build wealth, social skills, dating skills, and have fun, allow yourself some space to fuck around a bit. I started at 24 and now at 33 my life is radically different. I went balls to wall though, but now my life is golden

Invest at epistemology to the extent that it allows you to see the big picture but not get your head stuck on the clouds and you use it to develop leverage in the world, otherwise you will become like me in his late twenties with nothing to show for it due to many different reasons, but one of them was following intellectual pursuits at the same time harboring deep guilt of following them but not quite all the way, but also not quite following fully my monetary paths.

Be careful of what we have been talking in this post here:
