There Is No Friend-zone on Semen Retention

@Schizophonia its just spiritual narcissism where you think you are above stuff, YOU ARE NEVER ABOVE ANYTHING, we are all human monkeys that need to shit, have sex, eat and just be a human being, look at Bentinho, his suppression led to him becoming a cult sex leader, all because of stupid spiritual narcissism and shame and fear around sex in the spiritual community. Was more talking to the kids talk guy lol

Great. Now ask yourself why is that?

Is it because you believe she is the source of your well-being? You’ve given her the role of the source, but she’s only a trigger for a feeling of wholeness that you actually want.

You don’t really want her form. You want the state she seems to bring you into. That state is already within you, but the illusion is so strong that you can’t see it.

Whatever, the state of pleasure can be felt with no need to sex with a woman or even with masturbation. But that dont make the experience of sex less or more than something.

I've noticed that, when guys are into no-fap, there tends to be a lot of sexual shame that motivates them to want to quit masturbation.

So, I wanted to just affirm that there's nothing shameful or bad about self-pleasuring or about sexual pleasure in general.

Also, I sincerely doubt that women are magically attracted to guys doing no-fap.

If I were interested in depth, I wouldn't come to this forum to find it... as real depth requires a lot more emotional vulnerability than this setting allows for.

This forum is interesting to me precisely because it's a bunch of nerdy guys getting in random intellectual dick-measuring contests with one another to try to compete to be the most conscious person on the planet.

So, it gives space for my more combative, competitive side that wants to get into a bunch of intellectual dick-measuring contests.

Most of the contexts that I exist in, I'm very careful with people's feelings and I just hold space for others' perspectives, as I ask questions to facilitate their growth.

But on here, I don't hold space. I just talk about my views and get into arguments.

It's like intellectual bumper cars.

Well. I'm glad you can be free.  But it is all here.  Not sure how you found it. And frankly I don't care. But you did.  Awakening is here.

@Emerald I agree with this. Nobody should feel ashamed to masturbate, in fact enjoy it, like enjoying your food. If you are addicted to porn or something, then that is a different story

It is always the same problem; promoting an orthodoxy instead of doing things consciously, non-compulsively.

All the more so because paradoxically addictions often stem largely unconsciously from the fear of having to "give up" the thing in question. So the more you engage in forbiddenness the more compulsive you become.

I didn’t say it causes it, I said it increases the risk. Perhaps still too strong of a statement, but there is certainly strong evidence for a link between the two, which means it quite likely that ejaculating less or not at all increases risk of prostate cancer.

This is a lot less absolute of a statement than you first made with “All forms of fasting are beneficial for human health”

You also need to provide an argument for what this principle is, or why fasting as a general rule is good for the body.

Different types of fasting have very different effects and there is no evidence that as a general concept “fasting” is good for the body. Some types of fasting are beneficial for some people, sometimes. That is about as much as has been conclusively proven.

As a very simple counter example, if you are anorexic or severely underweight, fasting is not going to be beneficial for you.

I understand the distinction, but you’re still making a leap. A correlation between ejaculation frequency and prostate cancer doesn’t mean that semen retention increases the risk.

You’d need to establish causation, not just an association. Otherwise, you’re taking a statistical correlation and turning it into a causal claim. The honest answer is that we don’t know whether abstaining itself increases the risk, and there’s no good reason to assume that it does.

You’re taking “all forms” too literally. The principle is simple: temporary abstinence can be beneficial to the body depending on the context. Obviously, there are exceptions. That doesn’t invalidate the principle.

I’m not saying sex is meaningless. I’m saying you’re confusing the experience with the source of the experience. Sex can be an incredible experience, but the pleasure itself doesn’t come from the woman as an external source. She triggers something that is already possible within your own experience.

Let’s get one thing straight. She’s not running a background check on your masturbation history. That’s not the point.

You stop chasing cheap stimulation every five minutes, your relationship with desire changes. You’re less needy, less desperate for validation, and actually present for once. And yeah, women can pick up on that.

You don’t have to believe me. Plenty of guys notice the difference themselves. Either way, she’s not thinking, “Wow, he hasn’t masturbated in a long time.” She’s thinking, “Why the hell is this guy so magnetic?”

She doesn’t see the retention. She sees the man it turned you into. Big difference.

There are some situations where correlation vs causation is a valid criticism, and to a degree it is here too, but for something like prostate and ejaculation, which are inherently very closely linked, a heavy correlation is enough to suggest that a causation link is very likely.

I'm not taking it too literally, it's exactly what you said. You softened your argument afterwards, but those were your words.

but “strong correlation” still isn’t the same as proving that abstinence itself increases prostate cancer risk. It can suggest a possible causal link, but it doesn’t establish one.

And yes, those were my words. My point was that fasting as a general principle can be beneficial, not that literally every possible form of fasting is beneficial for every person under every circumstance. Obviously context matters.

If you're jerking off every day then staying a couple days without it will definitely increase your libido.

Personally, I don't see much benefit avoiding jerking off for longer periods like more than a week.

You won’t notice as many benefits if you’re already healthy. But if you’ve been deeply addicted to porn and using it to escape the emptiness you feel, quitting can feel like going from death to life.
