Sober Awakening Experience

17 posts in this topic

I find it interesting and frightening at the same time that there is a possibility of having a sudden intense Awakening experience sober that is equally profound when taking a psychedelic. To be honest, I never thought it would happen to me.

Today I woke up from sleeping, at which I had a dream of me living a totally different life for decades. When I suddenly woke up, I couldn't bear the reality that it ended and now I'm in a different reality. The thought of neither one being less real in my mind triggered an Awakening experience which led me to recognize that this reality is a dream through and through. I was swimming in pure NOTHINGNESS and EMPTYNESS for a minute.

The distinction between my nightly dreams and waking reality was TOTALLY unimagined. I was left ALONE, because I am DREAMING the dream that everyone is part of. Endlessly Melting! Too profound!

The realization that no one has truly awakened or will ever wake up other than myself is truly shocking!

Yea, that rocks your world doesn't it?

Especially when it's all you. -No additives. Totally sober awakening.

Well, it's shocking.

It was spontaneous; I haven't even meditated for a long time. I think my previous serious psychedelic experiences have somewhat to do with this.

Paradoxically, you’re not alone with feeling shocked, as I have described in another thread recently ^_^:

Please feel free to share if you relate to the above experience. I am glad I am able to share such radical stuff without being told I have lost my mind lol

So , you had a dream …aaaand ?:P

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

I have had an experience of something taking over my mind. That was again when I was about to wake up from my sleep. I heard alien clicking sounds and was melting through reality. It was like being possessed.

@Nemra was it that the distinction between dream vs reality realized experientially to be imaginary? Whereas in the past it was just theoretical ?

I understood the logic, but awakening to that is totally different, because I literally woke up from another reality that was too real to forget quickly. The assumption that my waking reality is more real got shaken at that moment.

@Nemra I've mentioned before on some occasions I've woken from a dream and reality was no different. It's like going from one dream state to another. Even now as I'm typing this, I'm getting that feeling.

Some people have reported that while in a car. Which could be dangerous if you're behind the wheel.

In true awakening, absolute openness, the notions of "alone," "dream," "creation," "past", "future ","oneness", "duality ", are meaningless, not a possibility, do not operate on that plane, and are not even conceivable except as possibilities of the fragmented human mind.

Me lol.
ive been having such deep meditation experiences lately that im questioning whether doing more psychedelics is even necessary . Actually needing to take more breaks from practice bc of how it's been ramping up lately haha.
I do think prior psych use contributed to this.

@Breakingthewall I tend to agree with this, but it could be different for different people. I know for me, in the awakenings I've had, the concepts, whatever they are, God, pure consciousness, imaginary etc don't really come up. I remember being a little shocked by this, being philosophically committed to an idealist metaphysics and then having an awakening and that not making sense anymore, at least for awhile. the exception was nn dmt, that substance very clearly pointed me to imagination / consciousness.

@Oppositionless I had a dream once after watching a YT vid on Jim Morrison of The Doors driving through the desert. I was a passenger just sitting back and watching the miles of desert and cactus and mountains pass by. Finally, after quite some time I said to Jim. "So just to ask, where are we headed? He replied: "We're already there"

Yup, it can happen, just rare and inconsistent.

Congrats!

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
