If you're sick of repetitive spiritual content watch this

This guy's mind is truly on another level. Even if what he said turned out to be false you have to respect the creativity and ingenuity of his ideas, and his degree of logical coherence is on a  supercomputer level.

He supposedly has an IQ of 200, which I am skeptical of because even professional IQ tests cap around 160, they just weren't designed for anything above that. In any case he's well into genius territory.

If you have the kind of mind that needs something difficult to feel engaged, this is a juicy burger. He basically says everything Leo says but in his own, incredibly sophisticated way as if he reached those same conclusions without ever having heard of spirituality. It's highly refreshing. He talks a lot about how time works in both directions through orthogonal dimensions, I've been saying this for a while and I haven't seen anyone else that agreed with me until him.

@Meeksauce Ty, for this, I’ll watch it tonight in bed. Looking forward to snuggling with something different.

Chris Langan has a great mind in many ways, but his theory is fundamentally conceptual.

He gets some things wrong, such as hell existing. He also has weird political views.

But yes, definitely worth looking into. This is probably the most interesting Curt interview, after Leo of course.

I'm not gonna say he totally hits the nail on the head with God, but his thought process is valuable.

Nothing wrong with being conceptual at that high of a level. However, my main difficulty with him is along these lines as well - It's easy to confuse having a working logical system with having an actual descriptor of reality. Do I think he's right on many levels? Yes. Describing the interaction between energy and information as a meta framework is not total bullshit. But could it also be just a very complex and interconnected theory? Absolutely. I mean really, who are any of us mere mortals to say. It's not like us idealists are superior for understanding the same things he says but in a significantly less intelligent way. The point stands about an extremely high functioning mind being valuable to study.

37:00-38:00 is a particularly good insight for Leo's followers. Leo's wording tends to be something along the lines of "Infinity is so unlimited and unbounded that in order for finite reality and relativity to exist, constraints or limits have to be applied by your higher self" (feel free to correct me if I'm steelmanning). What Langan says is something a bit different, that total unboundedness would not even give you the precursor for any qualitative conditions.

The sharpest intellects in the world such as his are able to "peek under the hood" of any idea and reconstruct it in higher definition.

Can an ant be a genius against another ant.
maybe in the ant world.
we will never know.

Exactly. Compared to God's intelligence any deviation among humans is effectively nothing.

Was actually just thinking about the topic of ant consciousness yesterday. There was one that kept coming close to me on my bench, I would act threatening with a rock towards it and it would scamper away, only to come dancing back proudly seconds later, as if teasing me. Yes I spared him haha. But the question of to what degree insects possess rudimentary consciousness and intelligence is a good one. I tend to think that we downplay their intelligence because we are using human metrics.

i love how people here are so quick to just make assumptions and fling shit at each other. Like monkeys! The emotional stability and poise of this forum is at the maturity level of a child. Makes me hate coming here. When you can hide behind a screen it erodes the core of what builds a community and intelligent discussion - accountability.

I disagree with your post and opinion, you insult my intelligence. I have nothing I need to prove to you but if you want my answer i find him to be too lost in concepts and numbers, he also talks about silly shit like demons and angels, finally i believe that someone who truly has a grasp on deep intellectual concepts can explain it in easily understandable ways, like a Ken Wilber, Ralston, or Leo, he doesn't seem capable of stepping out of his mathematical linguistics to cast a broader net. Too robotic, too much in the head, kind autistic, it's not that i can't keep up with him, it's just boring and lacks heart

Can I ask - why do you think you selected the possibility that there was some sort of intellectual cap, over all the other possibilities that another user might not relate to the clip you linked?

"you didn't relate, therefore you lack the intelligence to understand it" - that is quite a large causal jump.

Other possibilities behind someone not relating: - different life experience - different interest - different values - different personality - different cognitive style - different background knowledge - different cultural background - different emotional state - poor presentation - poor communication from the creator - different taste - different circumstances - lack of personal relevance - opposing conclusions - content is genuinely weak

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

You were the one who made a dismissive "meh" comment without explaining anything. If the OP thinks the video is high-level and you don't, you should have to explain your reasons, not with a narcissistic "meh," which translates to: you're not up to my standards, worm.

Then the OP replies, and your response is an outburst of anger. Sounds bad, man, sounds like troubles.

Anyway, about Langan. His entire theory rests on a logical leap. He correctly states that reality has no exterior, an obvious logical deduction, and observes that reality contains coherence and complex systems. He then deduces that reality in its entirety must be a self-aware system, because otherwise, how would one explain the perfection of these systems?

Furthermore, he deduces that reality/God has a direction, a goal. Let's see, if reality is infinite, as he says, it has no direction at a total level; this is impossible. It's not going anywhere because it hasn't even started. Or in other words, if God is absolute, how could it have a goal if there is not any state that it needs to achieve?

And reality can be a perfect system of unimaginable complexity without a creator, simply through self-selection of the most efficient possibilities.

In short, he needs a God with a goal to explain reality. Okay, so now, explain God. The point is, the reality can be conscious in local points, but conscious as a whole if it's unlimited is logically impossible, and he speaks from logic.

No. There are ideas they won’t understand because they are still operating from within their own experience and perception which is limited to the state of their ego.

The intellect can’t reach further than perception (I think)

He has a severe Fe blindspot and/or self-centeredness problem like Eric Weinstein. He values his own jargon more than ensuring he is understood. He also came off as insecure one time in a different discussion, and his past indicates he feels a lack of approval.

Idk what’s up with some of these intellectuals I just don’t see the value in such technical language, and then people feel like those people are some kind of “class of their own” and understand things they don’t, but sometimes it’s just more complexity of language than there is intelligence (not saying they’re not very intelligent just pointing out the proportion between the two)

The absolute most obnoxious shit I remember is in high school where we had to write our own analysis of some analysis “intellectuals” had done of some poetic writer.

It’s like sometimes they’re just better at adding meaning themselves than uncovering meaning that is there😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

He says that reality is infinite, unlimited, intelligent, and has a telos, a direction. This would be an infinite reality, but limited to being intelligent and directional.

Unlimited implies a total absence of structure. Infinity does not imply that; even numbers are infinite, but limited, they do not include odd numbers.

His entire vision is limited, enclosed; this prevents the mind from truly opening to the totality. His philosophy has a fundamental flaw, and with that flaw is a closure, not an instrument of openess

@Breakingthewall Many people if you say the word “openness” they’ll think you mean just “open minded” as if that’s all there is to openness
