Extrapolate that over the long term: the more experiences you have with 'hot' women (per your eyes), the less you'll idealize them. The hardest will be the beginning, when you have yet no experience. That will be hard, and you need to push through.

Define proxy metrics. E.g., if you want to hook up with a hot chick, that might happen so rarely you can't use it a reliable metric. So instead you track and act upon proxy metrics: how many hot chicks you talk to; how many hot chicks you get the number, etc. Be creative and use your intelligence to come up with proxy metrics that well characterize your own progress and adjust to your own stage.

Experience and action are king.
