My Girlfriend's Ex-Boyfriend Didn't Respect Her

Hey guys,

Looking for some guidance here as my girlfriend who I've been dating for a week now and who I've been seeing for a month has been freaking out (she's also on her period,) because she thinks one day I'm just going to decide I don't like her anymore and will ghost her. 

For some background, she has OCD and anxiety, and her last boyfriend was an abusive POS, for example, when they broke up he told her to commit self-deletion then blocked her on everything. BTW, she is getting professional help for all of this as we speak.

I've never been in a relationship before, just had casual sex partners, so this is all new to me and I'm not sure how to handle it, she called me today and said let's talk about it tonight, because although she's over him, some of the things he did have really fucked her up and she wishes she warned me about it beforehand. I just want to head into this conversation as best as I can because I do really care for her and I think tonight is either going to make us much stronger as a couple or it's going to be over. Either option is okay for me but I would prefer the former.

Any advice is appreciated.

Owen. An advice from an internet friend -Rishabh.

Try to listen to her compassionately , support her on her mental health journey and remind her that her last doesn't decide her future love life potential.

Try to make her understand that it is better to detach past traumatic circumstances from future potentials.

Overall it seems wise to me that she is taking professional help ,sorting this out by talking to you. It speaks me about healthy processing of emotional pain and symptoms rather than supression which many people do by addictive substances to numb their negative emotions.

She probably has anxious attachment style, and her past relationship made it worse. that's only a guess, ask her if she has that, if she doesn't know, tell her to ask some professional since she's getting professional help. that'll help so much.
