I threw away my psychedelics today

16 posts in this topic

I realized that I'm not at the right stage of life to be pursuing God.

I'm 26, with a well-paying job in a HCOL area. By any conventional metric my life is a success.

Psychedelics have been an incredible spiritual tool. But the more I take them, the more I realize I would have to give up my career, which I'm not prepared to do at this stage of life. So I'm following Leo's advice and postponing any further use until I'm at least 30.

Hopefully this encourages the other youngsters out there to take it slow.

Good call, psychedelics do potential harm along with any perceived benefits.

Nice, that's the right mindset. You can still build your spiritual base with other means until the time comes.

Just curious, why is that?

In what ways specifically psychedelics interfere with your career?

I've had three profound trips in my life, and each of them made me realize I don't love my job, even though I worked so that I could try psychedelics.

The irony.

They are making me realize that in order to embody truth I would have to give up my current corporate career path. It would probably entail a drastic change lifestyle, dedicating myself to a life of service.

I will probably make the change in the next decade, but I need to make it sober. I can't make rash decisions because of an existential crisis I had during a trip... which is what was starting to happen.

Psychedelics often push extreme visions. All or nothing thinking. Life is about balance.

I've got no sense of such.

Perhaps only the impending one of collapse?

I suppose that does imply a struck balance. At least for a little while.

It will all come to a collapse. Psychedelics or not.

Let mine be the Psychedelic one!

I'm 28 and couldn't agree more. Psychedelics amplified and eventually pushed me through an old career, forcing me to switch lanes to stay true to myself.

I'm not using them again until I get my finances stable, have a good relationship, and learn more about the world. There's absolutely no rush to depart for the heavens.

@Giancarlo Psychedelics should never be taken recreationally, everything should be taken in with strategic interest. Psychedelics are a personal development tool. Development implies parameters, that with psychdelics if left unchecked will output negation or neutralisation more than liberation if taken in excess.

I am taking over 12 months to prepare for my first main psychedelic experience, I do not simply view them as apples to pluck off a tree but rather something to have extreme gratitude for.

Slow long term strategic preparations is how something as tenuous as this should be done.

We live in world where the most valuable of objects are treated aimlessly and the most deplorable, like OnlyFans, are endorsed will millions pocketed monthly. I have never so much as watched an OnlyFans video, nor for over 15 years a porn video. My recommendation is not to do anything that the mind has proven capable of self-enhancing its own development by meeting similar needs or reconciling them with rigour elsewhere.

In your 20s be the Warrior

In your 30s be the King

In your 40s be the Sage

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God
